I was thinking that it would be nice to hold an IRC session to encourage/help new people to start mining (would just be w/ CPU just to get the ball rolling).
The session would be short mostly just consist of downloading the cpuminer, getting them on a pool for a Scrypt coin of their choice/setting up a worker/s, and making their .bat files then mining. I would probably include the refer them to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmOzih6I1zs before they begin and then provide some more info on CPU mining just to get the initial spark and let them go out into the mining world
It would be nice to get the word out about it so that there can be as many new people as possible. It isn't going to add mass hashing power to anything, but it will certainly benefit the community!
Thoughts? Unless I get shot down for something i'll try to set up a session within the next month and get the word out.
