to be honest, i like to try my luck with the pool of about %5 to %10 of network speed. So if network has 1ghash. I join the pool under 50mhash. So that I can get bigger payouts if a block is found. Its upto luck but still have better chance with that percent and i have noticed a little better earning with smaller pool Cheesy rather than crowded pools, or maybe its just me who feels like that?

Hmm.. I am also only mining for a few weeks now, but my advice is to mine at a pool with many people and the biggest hashrate, then many rounds get solved, and you get paid quite regularly. The fee part i don't put as my top-most priority, as I want a lot of hashing power to solve blocks quickly...

What I do is, I check out a few pools, look at their stats without signing up - and sign up with the one that has the most active community.

Let's see what others recommend.
