Thanks for the suggestions so far - note also that it would be most preferable that I can pay in BTC.

I use interserver and they have exceptional up-time. I am using it to set up my pool. Here is the link if you are interested https://interserver.net/dock/vps-230671.html. My VPS has 2 GB ram, unlimited Bandwidth, 54 GB HDD, and Ubuntu running but you can pick your OS. Surprisingly I only pay $12 per month. That's what attracted me  Grin

I'll do it vpss are stable had 2 days downtime on 1 host over the last 2 years
I'm a 1 man show but you get full KVM access so reboots and such are easy for you to do my providers monitor servers 24/7 should the server become unpingable for 5 mine they reboot and trouble shoot KVM works off separate IP to your server. Not 100% sure about being able to use vmwareimages as I use proxmox

Let me know Im very flexible bandwidth is shared 250mbps line but no 1 person can go over 100mbps
not over sold
Base on quad core Xeon E5cpus with hyper threading
Location is Canada or slightly less powerful server in france

Unfortunately a dedicated server (generally around 100 USD per month) is a bit out of my price range so a VPS that is on hardware not being ridiculously shared should be fine (and in fact I am not even sure if you can actually *verify* that a dedicated server even is just that so I'd rather not be paying for something that I don't even actually get).

I've sent you something
(40$/month for exactly what you need)

I need 24x7 support so no "one-man show" is acceptable.

VPS must have 2 GB of RAM and be able to handle heavy duty tasks like C++ compilation (data storage doesn't need to be huge but should be easily enough for it to run bitcoind).

You may be looking for a dedicated server. There are loads of them available at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36.  Always check reviews of the hosting provider before considering to order.

Unfortunately the VPS provider that CIYAM has been using seems to be no longer capable of providing a reliable service (it goes offline now every other day for hours with seemingly no amount of "fixes" making it actually better).

So I have decided ciyam.org needs to be moved to a service provider that actually can provide a reliable VPS which can work with my own VM image (a 64-bit SUSE distro) which will need to be migrated from the existing service provider.

I am willing to pay up to 50 USD per month for this service (for which I expect very decent performance,  bandwidth and storage) and the provider must be able to list "well-known" websites that are their clients (which I will check - so if you are a "one-man show" please don't waste my time).
