Since the Topps company is directly auctioning the 1/1 Blank Back # 83 Cryptocurrency card through their eBay account, they will certainly be aware and impressed that its final sale value eclipses all the other 1/1 Blank Back cards on auction. With that in mind, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Topps Cryptocurrency card as an annual release in the future.

FYI: that all black card is the MINI from the X hobby box...the others have just the black border ...I'm pretty sure...still double checking

Extremely rare cards, I prefer the holders that PSA will enclose them in,  others I would want holders that support the corners of both regular and mini cards

Wait...I'm so confused.  I thought the X cards were like the other cards hidden randomly. But now I'm seeing X Hobby Boxes and X packs show up on ebay now (at about a 50% premium over the non-X packs). Are the X cards an entirely different line, or are these boxes hidden within the cases?

2018 Ginter X Baseball Arrives as Online Only Product

Topps released its latest online-only product Wednesday with the launch of 2018 Ginter X baseball.

It’s a new issue meant to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary.  The cards will have a “10th Anniversary Issue” stamp but X is being produced on what Topps calls “sleek, black stock.”

Basically, X puts the standard A&G set on a dark background but with a few other twists.

Base cards, common minis and  Allen & Ginter back minis will get the all-black treatment while the black-bordered minis issued in 2015 A&G have been re-created with a white border this time.

Boxes have 16 packs with eight cards per pack and Topps is promising to deliver two hits in every box. One out of every two boxes, on average, will have an autographed card.   

The Topps Home Run Challenge contests continues with Ginter X, which was available here at a price of $70 per box but was already listed as “sold out” by late Thursday morning.

The new allen and ginter X cryptocurrency card is out, also known as the oddball.  Card is all black background, happy hunting treasure hunters.

Case @ 1100 on eBay (Bitcoin purchased eBay gift cards )

Case has at minimum 3-5 valuable cards. Two rip cards and the unlisted glow in the dark. With any luck those (maybe plus a few others) should net the purchase price in individual sales on feebay it seems. Allowing to keep the crypto goodness on the cheap/free.


It's real easy to convince myself to pull the trigger.

First baseball cards, then pogs, then numismatics, beanie babies (nowhere near killyous horde), then CDs, then & now: screen prints, vinyls, snowboards, crypto, physical cryptos, precious metals... The list illness goes on. At least cards wouldn't be a new chapter, ha! Now when to start that car collection...

I think that's the case with all collecting. I remember when I used to collect football (soccer) cards and it was just the same. There's nothing like ripping open a packet and seeing what rare cards you've managed to bag. I don't think I've changed at all 

I can't seem to put any boxes aside, I stare at the box and then before you know it there are rappers all over the place. LOL.

I wonder if anyone has the tenacity to get a case, and sit on it, because MAYBE no one will find it (plate) in a couple few years, and selling packs could be profitable...or even selling a box here and there.....NAHHH!!!

Quite tempted to grab a case ... The collector in me says do it. Every other part of me says "you don't need another thing to collect"... Or is that my SO talking... Damn this board. This fantastic wonderful group of hoarders board. 

I wonder if Leaf, Upperdeck, Bowman and all the other major card companies are going to follow Topps lead and jump on the bandwagon.  Personally I think they will.

Has anyone opened any packs, boxes, or cases yet.  So far I have opened 1 hobby box and 8 mega packs and not 1 crypto card, are you kidding me!!!! My luck stinks

Price is always tough on 1/1's.  Some worth nothing some are priceless, it is the true depends on finding the right buyer as private collectors value things way more than public collectors.  This has a nice crossover appeal since us crypto collectors are nuts about our collectables.  And besides we only pay in numbers with decimals. 

I have no idea why it doesn't work.

This is quite cool. We get Topps football cards in the U.K. but they’re aimed at youngsters rather than collectors. Seems like this is a much bigger market in the US and the crypto additions is a nice touch.
Any idea what the market price is for a one of a kind printing plate?

If I knew the plate was in it I would maybe even 3 or 4 cases but, at 2400.00 a case and not find it would make me very sad

Same here, this is the first year Topps has recognized the cryptocurrency market and I can't wait for the possibility of other major card companies jumping on the band wagon.
