Maybe start with a website detailing whatever it is that you do.  You can structure it by price per project or price per hour, show detail examples.

Then finally put yourself out there on various btc forums and market yourself.

Try getting a pimp who gets paid in BTC. Sure the tips will be lower, and just don't complain about the "mentorship" they give you.

If you can't find a pimp who rolls btc, you might have found a niche...

Advertise. Market. Advertise. Your efforts are, indeed, what is needed to build this economy. However, don't expect folks to rush to you. Bitcoins are being held too tightly right now because the market is very unstable and no one knows how high (or low) to think.

I think I'd start with advertising on various bitcoin related forums, and maybe in some of the IRC channels on freenode (If it is in compliance with the rules).
I don't know how hard/easy it is to get your business listed on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade, but you should do that too if possible. I suppose they will make more elaborate categories as more businesses are added to the list.

As bitcoins become more mainstream it will also get easier to advertise in more mainstream medias i guess..

Stuff like this is exactly what we need to strengthen the bitcoin economy. More markets => more exposure => even more markets.

Good luck.

So I've seen the various sites that have different listings of vendors and such that have buyers/sellers/people who accept BTC.

That being said, how might I best go about offering my expertise as a writing tutor in exchange for BTC?  The wiki doesn't really have an area for individuals who have very specific skills. I've seen http://www.bitcoinclassifieds.net/Services/ as an option-- has anybody had good experiences there, or somewhere else that might work?

Thanks!
