I've made a satisfactory decision, and at this time, those of you that have not received a pm regarding this cash trade, will most likely not receive any further messages from me unless something unexpected happens.

I thank you all for the interest, and I am sorry I could not trade with all of you.

Hi TheManOfTown

I live in Berlin and I'm interested. There are many wlan cafes near Invalidenstraße, meeting in person on tuesday would be great.

EDITH says:

Since the EUR and the USD market are so NOT in sync, i'd like to change my offer:
I will buy for the last BID divided by the exchange rate EUR/USD +0,10

at the moment that would  amount to: 19,25/(1,46+0,1)=12,33

sounds a little fairer?

hiya,

i don't know what the "dos and dont's" for cash trades are either, as this would be my first cash trade as well.
i guess that's also what figured into the margin aspect of it all.

the offer still stands ans is subjecot to negotiation :-D

Thanks for the interest. Yes, the market is very volatile. But if I understand you correct, if you want a 10-15% margin, that means if the current price when the trade takes place is say 18.3:

This would give 50*18.3 = 915USD

Which equals to 915 * 0,68 = 622,2 EUR

So what you're saying there is that you want a 10-15% margin, it means that I will get

10% Margin: 622.2 * 0,9 = 559,98 EUR
15% Margin: 622.2 * 0,85 = 528,87 EUR

That means you will have a profit of about 62-93EUR on that trade.

In my view that seems like a very high fee. I don't know if this is the norm for BTC to cash trades, but it seems like I am better off to sell at mtGox and pay the withdrawal fees and current conversion rates.

I am not depending on making this trade, but it would be interesting to actually do it. But unfortunately, I am not willing to do it on terms that are less beneficial for me than trading on mtGox. That's why I gave the street where I stay, in case anyone lives nearby and is willing to take on the trade. I don't expect anyone to travel far to meet up for a trade.

So I thank you very much for your post, but your margin is too steep for my taste.

am interested.
work in central west berlin, meeting could be well arranged.
as the markets are quite volatile, i would probably like to negotiate a 10-15% margin.
cash is on hand, laptop with wifi also is.

Hello everyone.

I am soon travelling to Berlin, the coming Tuesday. I want to buy EUR for BTC in person 7th or 8th of June.

I'd like to meet in a public place where wifi is available. Then we can exchange cash (EUR) for BTC.

I am planning on selling 50 BTC. Since the market is very volatile, I will not make a specific offer at this point in time, but I am sure this is something we can negotiate when the trade will find place.

The amount of EUR we are talking about would be approximately 600 EUR. I'd be willing to pay current MtGox rate, plus a 1% fee. For the trade to find place, the mtGox BTC/USD rate needs to be higher than 18.

Calculations would be done in mutual agreement in a public cafe or restaurant with wifi.

It's the first time I attempt to do a private trade like this. Full personal information can be provided for any serious counterparty. Since I have not done any trades like this before, I have no online reputation to show for.

But the Idea is that you see my BTCs on my computer (notebook), and you have the cash with you, and then we make the calculations and finish the trade right away.

Will arrive at Berlin-Schönefeld the coming Tuesday. If you want to meet up at the airport, we can do the trade there.  Will stay at Invalidenstraße, district Mitte.

I am a Norwegian computer engineer, and is very excited about the bitcoin concept.

Full personal information can be disclosed for any serious trader if necessary.

Messages on this forum will probably last be checked from my office computer late the coming monday, I will attempt to access the forum while I travel as well, but for a swift reply please respond as soon as possible.

Looking forward to my first bitcoin trade in person ever.

PS: I do talk german, but it is not fluent. Smiley

Cheers, TheManOfTown
