As we can see, you've sent the funds as a contract transfer instead of an ordinary transfer. Please note that we do not process such transactions, and there is no way for us to credit or refund your coins so far.
Does anyone know what the difference is between contract transfer and ordinary transfer?

and I sent the funds on BASE through Coinbase wallet which is not exactly an obscure wallet.
It's pretty irrelevant which wallet you sent the coins from, in the end, the most important difference is mostly just the interface. Certainly, according to the TX link and the first post, you sent 0.07ETH to some address, that's not in dispute. Here, the error occurred in the communication between user (you) - Swapzone - Changelly.
Usually, many exchanges that stand up to their reputation agree to refund if the address is under their control, but here it is something different.

I can understand if it were sent on the wrong network, or with the wrong memo, but the request here was to transfer ETH on BASE, they provided a BASE deposit address, and I sent the funds on BASE through Coinbase wallet which is not exactly an obscure wallet. In fact I think BASE network is run by Coinbase.

So obviously they should be able to handle this or, at a bare minimum, refund the coins since they control the address. Or give me the private key to the address and I'll do it myself.

Finally heard back from Changelly and it looks like they are just keeping the money. As some have mentioned very scammy. But it is spelled out in their terms of use so I guess lesson learned read all that thoroughly before using a service and understand, too, how your wallet will be sending the coins.

Thank you for your query.

As we can see, you've sent the funds as a contract transfer instead of an ordinary transfer. Please note that we do not process such transactions, and there is no way for us to credit or refund your coins so far.

We also cover this in our Terms of Use clause 2.9: https://changelly.com/terms-of-use.

We appreciate your understanding on the matter!

Sincerely,
Changelly support team

There is no technical reason why they couldn’t process your transaction. If they are capable of recovering ETH sent to a BSC deposit address then surely they can recover ETH from a Base address. Their terms are very arbitrary and demonstrate why they are so untrustworthy.

It's a practice that a lot of exchanges and swap services follow - bank on the lack of general/technical understanding of the user and tell them "oh because it was this kind of transfer" or "oh because you sent to another network" that they can't recover it.

Changelly has always been a con though, not sure how on earth they're still around and also not sure why OP chose to use them (whether it was through swapzone or not).

Sorry about that. A bit unfair in my opinion though, it's hard for you to win this case. Swapzone should add more information regarding smart contracts and other forms of disallowed deposits on the swap page. This could help prevent further more losses to customers.

We do read terms and conditions, but it's hard to read and gasp everything. This should help clients know about some things such as minimum deposits... Imagine someone losing 100 ETH just because of those missing small details!

Changelly is known as one of the scammiest exchanges out there, however in this case it might have been due to the wallet you used that caused an issue. The data you provided indicates that you made the swap from Coinbase Smart Wallet. These “smart" wallets are really just smart contracts and many exchanges can only recognize transactions that come from a normal wallet. I had a similar problem when I tried to do a swap on Sideshift.ai using the Swift smart wallet from Trust Wallet. My transaction was not recognized initially and I had to contact customer service so it could be processed.

SwapZone is just an affiliate and doesn’t handle customer funds. You will have to contact Changelly directly, give them your order ID and explain that your transaction wasn’t detected because it came from a smart contract wallet. Smart wallets don’t affect the receiver so your funds are not lost, they are in Changelly’s deposit address where they can transfer them at any time.

I opened a ticket with Changelly but have received no response. I think your theory is correct that their automated system can't handle smart wallet transactions.

Yeah, if you want to make sure there are no smart contracts messing up your exchange, just send the funds to an empty MyEtherWallet first and then send them to the exchanger.

I would say however that if SwapZone did not answer the OP's queries then they are not doing a good job providing their service, which is what an affiliate is supposed to do (bring new users).

Don't have a screen shot. In hindsight I should always take one. Order Id on Swapzone.IO in case perhaps they see this is 678fc70b8bbcab8b45355bd5

Can you share a screenshot of the transaction? And when does this happened? I know most instant exchanges have timer window to do the transaction/transferring funds etc. If you meet all the requirements but still got an error then there's wrong with their system.
If you already messaged them I guess i can only say is to wait until they respond, then did you contact their CS? Try to contact their social media accounts, make a review with screenshots and txid on their trustpilot page[1] to contact their team.

I tried to access their site and i got error 502 from CF, it might the case on you? Having a trouble of their hosting? Just a guess though.

I initiated a swap on Swapzone.IO through Changelly provider to exchange .07 ETH on BASE network for a different crypto.

They provided a deposit address of 0x3ff62c6e0a24b951f33278afd2f313d752f9b60c to which I sent the ETH. Shows up as an internal transaction and the address is clearly now funded:

https://basescan.org/address/0x3ff62c6e0a24b951f33278afd2f313d752f9b60c

They never acknowledged the deposit and never sent the requested crypto.

Contacted customer service from both and got no response.

So bottom line don't use Swapzone unless you don't care about those coins. Not reliable. Their providers aren't reliable.
