Proper password hygiene can prevent these kind of hacks, so one can say with certainty that the user did not have a sufficiently long password, and shared it among sites (either that or bitcointalk.org is currently PwnD). I use unique passwords on every site including this forum, with a typical random password looking like ZcAX)ogGKZYY?9.*w+5i0Y=L+

It sounds like the password hacker just picked the account of a previous scammer.

It looks like the bitbetter account was hacked, so recent activity by that account was not your guy:

Last year when he started his bitpoker.biz website, I registered as an affiliate. For each visitor to his site he promised to pay 0.002 Bitcoins. According to his own affiliate statistics, 3673 hits were counted for my ref-id, 2350 of them unique visitors.

Additionally, I earned 7030 "bitbetter points" on his website which were promised to be exchanged with a ratio of 1000:1 into Bitcoins.

All this happened last year. I sent him several PM's on this board and emails to his address (which he used to reply to before), asking for my payment of 11.73 Bitcoins. He decided not to reply and went into inactive mode. A few days ago I noticed he is active again and once more reminded him, offering to solve this without making it public.

He has been on here since I sent the PM and so far, there has been no reply, no email and of course no payment.

So if you consider doing business with him, be careful.
