Im surprised the ads dont get checked when Google's always been actively screening for anything against the rules.

But good job nevertheless. It's gonna be a while before another one pops up.

Baofeng, how you get info about this site? I try to search by keyword "Electrum" without adblock turned on, but it show me only official site at the top of the results.

I have the same tools that @ socks435 uses to find other fake and phishing Electrum sites here: ⚠⚠️⚠~Beware on active phishing Electrum websites~⚠⚠️⚠ (Collection list updated).

So I scrape lots of data once in a while and see if I got a positive hit.

@cryptonia claims that he ended up on the phishing site by openning and old electrum wallet he had, which asked him to perform an update. @The Pharmacist also received recently the same popup notification, but fortunately his antivirus flagged the downloads malware, and he was therefore able to abort the update (see So I got scammed with the electrum wallet scam). Reading through the thread, it’s not clear if it is a new case or an old one resurfaced/not eradicated from old wallets lacking update.

Thanks a lot op for this thread it’ll definitely help people keep their coins safe, and not loose them to a phishing scam. I personally feel if we use Electrums mobile application we can avoid being scammed, as most of these scams were done via a fake site. @DdmrDdmr it has to be the old scam as Electrum had issued a fresh update and asked it users to update their wallets version, the old wallets were redirected to the phishing site.

Most likely through an ad, that has probably already been removed.
Possible to get from any article as well who create a trap with ranking his article on google because that looks more attractive. I can't remember the site where I got fake PayPal was linked in an article a year ago.

Pretty much. While I applaud OP for his efforts in reporting this new phishing site and reporting the website does help a lot, it's just going to happen again and again and again. Using Brave browser or at least installing uBlock origin should honestly be the norm already.

Thanks for alarming the community - I just reported the website. I thought it's only during a bull run that we experience a rise in the number of phishing websites, it's quite different these days. Always good to inform one another when we come across these thieves. Thanks.

I report this site same as any other which is potentially dangerous for crypto users, and with more reports Google will mark this site as dangerous / deceptive in Chrome&Firefox for all users.

Done...
I really appreciate the effort some people make towards getting those phising sites off of google, altough i sometimes wonder if it wouldn't be better if we just concentrated on making sure people started verifying signatures... Offcourse it's idle hope to actually think the average user will ever question any link he found using google, let alone verify anything at all...
