So it looks like all of the promotional keys are now null and void.

AMD stated that they will honor all the codes, however I'm not sure how exactly they'll do that.

I redeemed one of the codes I bought through AMD's website, but I didn't redeem the Steam key. It was in the list of 2m keys I downloaded, so I would imagine someone probably pilfered it. Hopefully they sort it out because otherwise I'm out a key. Sad

I believe he meant all the codes redeemed from this point forward..

I have a copy of the full leaked list (it is close to 3mil) and I also have some valid coupons from gpu purchases and let me tell you that list contains EVERY code from AMD's promotion of graphics cards and other related offers.
Steam support have said via twitter that they will not be banning accounts though you may wish to keep photographic evidence of any coupon codes for future use to prove legitimacy.

Also, I have just found this piece of information:
Quote
Update: The 3 million steam keys for Dirt 3 that I posted here have been invalidated by valve after the whole thing broke up into the international gaming press.
All of you that managed to register keys to your accounts are probably going to get to keep the game and if not, then the worst case scenario is that your game will disappear from your steam list.
Valve has assured that steam accounts will not get banned over this so rest assured!

For all of you that are too late, I am sad to inform you that you are... well... TOO LATE...
I hope many of you and your friends got to register as many keys as you could fit in your pockets.
I am not going to lock this topic for the time being so feel free to talk about your experience with the keys and if any of you loses the game from your account, post about it here.
The fun is officially over!
So it looks like all of the promotional keys are now null and void from this point forward. AMD are claiming to still honour these keys at some point, not sure when/how.

I'm sure there ARE legitimate keys in the mess, so I don't know what they can really do about it.

I read "Slight Delays" so I'm sure it will be no problem. I think the issue is actually not the AMD4u keys, but the Actual Dirt 3 keys. So as long as they simply give you the AMD4u key, you should be fine.

Nope, I dug up a copy of the first 2m keys, and it includes the AMD4u keys as well. I don't know where people are getting the 3m keys from though, as this is the biggest copy I could dig up (the one up north is only about 600k keys, all of which are contained in the download I just got) and even my coupon code I got with my GPU is there.

This is going to be a mess whichever way you slice it. Sad

Simple solution, Get whoever is selling you the key to give you a picture of the Redemption card or whatever from AMD.

Won't really do you much good, as you can't redeem them now anyway.

I gather that the key list that was hacked was Steam keys - if you bought an AMD key, you are probably OK.

1) I don't think the AMD keys were the ones leaked.
2) If they weren't, then they can probably check which Steam keys were redeemed legitimately and which weren't.

At least I fuckin' hope so, I've bought like four copies of this game for myself and friends and I'm gonna rage if I lost my BTC for nothing. Sad

Edit: Redact my current comment - both the AMD keys and the Steam keys are included in the .sql dump. Gonna check it for the keys I bought right now. Here's a link to the dump so you can check that what you bought is legitimate (or you can steal a key and get your Steam account suspended, what do I care?):

Note that this list does not appear to be complete, it's only about 600k keys. Sad

It seems the servers holding DiRT3 keys were "hacked" and 3 million keys or so are floating around. These may or may not work, and they may or may not get your Steam account banned. It's worth being careful in regards to buying DiRT3 keys for BTC.
