Having these limitations based on verified accounts through KYC is not entirely unique to this exchange in question. Its the same anywhere. Its a strategy exchanges use to checkmate scam but sadly, legit biycoiners or crypto enthusiast suffers from this policy as well. Coupled with the fact that, not so many people who knows the risk involved in KYC would agree to go with it because, most of this new and newer sites often have a questionable security system. None of this implies that this exchange in question can or should be trusted, I know nothing of them just, stating a fact on why some of these policies are put in place.
It would also be interesting to note that, these policies are can actually be harmful to the exchanges especially when complaints such as yours @OP is left to linger. They ought to review.

They simply resolved it just for the sake of this thread?

But did they mentioned actual reason why your account was frozen or its just due to certain limits exceeds?

Don't use it for swaps or exchange or even as a wallet to store few bucks because their platforms turns out to be shady na d buggy.

Who knows what impact the thread had on the resolution. All I know is that they were quiet for 3 months, and when I made this thread and told them about it, the issue got resolved after 1 day. No word from them, so don't know. Maybe it is just a coincidence and they were just about to resolve it anyway?

The reason my account was frozen was because I had hit the withdraw limit and needed to go through the KYC process. But when I tried to upload my passport, it was rejected because they said the photo was blurry. Even though the passport was rejected, there was no way on their website to upload a new photo, it just said processing. So I tried in every was I could to get a new passport photo across to them, through email, through their ticket system, through their support chat. But no reply, just the support chat telling me to be patient and accept their appologies.

Then when I wrote this thread, I was suddenly approved and my money was released. No word from them though.

So my speculation is the following, which is just a speculation based on my feeling. They have deliberately made their KYC extra complicated and non user friendly. This way they hope a certain percentage of the customers will not be able to go through it. This way they can keep some of their customers money, while still maintaining deniability and blame the problem on the customer and government regulation.

A very interesting speculation. I never think about the possibility of such a big company doing shady thing as a source of "income".
Btw to make a problem caused by company going viral (the term I know is blow up media) is very effective for big companies.
They have reputation to maintain, and yeah they have so called risk team.
If it's their mistake, surely they will do anything to settle the problem - most of the time they will also give compensation)
It's based on my experience as customer service.

Their technical support is responding, though, and they keep a nice corporate facade. But at this point I really have the feeling that the core team has have taken off with my money and just hired some poor guys to sit there are give corporate answers.

Blockchain is sketchy af.

I just had my account robbed three days ago even though I have email verification set up. On the day I was robbed, I received no emails from them.

I opened a ticket to ask them why I didn't get an email and they have ignored me.

Agree with this one.

Lots have already turned their backs with this platform or exchange due to shadiness plus that buggy user interface with having those selective issues that even up to now
still havent resolved.

Its quite surprising if they would able to resolved it out on a short span of time knowing that their support isnt really that much of responsive.

If i were op and some others tending to make use this platform then better think twice.

Your speculation is valid this is the kind of method employed by other exchanges, so they can maintain your funds, because of the complication they have created, it's good that you posted it here as a user experience, so those who will read your experience will have an idea on what they are going to do, I kept a small amount always on their wallet so I will not have to go through that.

Good to know that they've been responsive to you and able to help you in an instant and help you take back your funds. I'm about to say that there were a lot of threads that should take their attention on Web Wallets.

As you see, most of the titles of the threads there are about them. Hopefully, that this thread you've made really has taken their attention to solving your concern quickly. And in that case, those threads that have an existing problem on the Web Wallets section will be noticed too.

^Interesting to know that, so they actually care about their reputation.

And its now time for everyone having issues with receiving email for Authorization also link their bitcointalk threads with their support tickets for immediate action. Wink

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
Anyway. I have now received my money. So I want to state that I no longer consider exchange.blockchain.com fradulent. It was a bit stressful and inconvenient, though. My key takeaway from the experience is "Not your keys, not your coins.". In the future I will do whatever I can to avoid custodial services.
Good thing, though frozen balance in 3 months is absolutely terrible experience using such platform.

I would suggest to use other alternatives such binance through their p2p, or their deposit using fiat (only if your country's currency is accepted) instead of using their service.

Did you reach a certain limit and they asked you to upgrade to a higher level?

Yeah that's it. Their limit for non verified customers is 1,999 per year, and for customers who has gone through their KYC process it is 200,000 per week. It doesn't say which those currencies are, I suppose they are euro. I was able to withdraw bitcoin to a value of 1,999 euro, but the rest was stuck.

Are you referring to their Twitter account [@AskBlockchain] or ticket answers from "here"?

No, the way I was communicating with them was through a chat support they have for logged in customers.

In addition to bL4nkcode's comment, I would suggest getting their attention through other social media platforms [it might help]:

  • The above Twitter account that I mentioned earlier.
  • Their "Facebook account".
  • Reddit [AFAIK, they don't have a subreddit but any of the known BTCitcoin subreddits should do the job].

Good suggestion! And... Good news, I actually got my money today! After having posted this thread here, I sent a link to the thread to their chat support and asked them to show the thread to their PR people. And that was when things started to happen. Could be a conincidence though.

They seem to have frozen my funds indefinitely. At least it has been going on for 3 months, and it is impossible to get a reply from their KYC team.

Any representative from exchange.blockchain.com who would like to answer?

Also this isn't the correct board, must move to Service discussion or Exchanges board

Sure, but how do I move a thread? I don't see any option for that. Do you mean I should delete it and create a new thread?
There's a control lower left of this thread, a "move topic" button.

Hello community!

I'm sad that I have to warn against the site https://exchange.blockchain.com/

If my money some day will be unfrozen, I will of course put that information here in this thread, and appologize that I wrongly accuse them of criminal activity. But at this point, I'm sorry to say that the accusation is actually called for.

Anyone who has had similar experiece? Any representative from exchange.blockchain.com who would like to answer?
It's a little bit worrying for the users since with the current high transaction fees people can't withdraw and move easily their funds from exchanges. I regularly notice some bugs and not common behaviors/way of working on this exchange, until now I was assuming they were due to the youth of the exchange but now I begin to think owners could be not very serious guys actually.

Sad to say, there's no active rep. here from blockchain.com.

About your issue, it's new to me as what I only know, they freeze trading/exchange funds for at least 3 days not 3 months and 3 months is very long time. Though blockchain.com is known for this but they somewhat solve it after sometime in regards of their exchange platform.

Did they told you reasons why your balance was freeze?
