I think the best thing to do with that social media account promoting the scam airdrop is to report the account so that it could get blocked or banned from the media space

That does the least damage to scammers, IMO, as how easy it is to create a Facebook account. Only educating people can save them, if not, they will get scammed and learn.

I really feel so sorry for the guy who is falling into these scams. And I become always been thinking that who are these guys who have a good amount of crypto and don't know what is a scam and what is legit, or don't try to research before making the investment? According to OP SUI has not ETH blockchain, it's a big point to realize that it's scam when I see someone promoting SUI as a token from the ETH blockchain Smiley

Note: OP you should resize the screenshots, it's looking too big to see and sometimes annoying to scroll down the page Smiley. You added 3 screenshots in the OP vertically. You can arrange these 3 pictures in one line Horizontally.

Social medias are always their conduit through which scammers perpetrate their nefarious act. Since they know most people on social medias are new bie into tech, they choose to make it popular there so that they could get a whole number of  people as their victims and would carry out their plans as scheduled thereby making people loose funds

I think the best thing to do with that social media account promoting the scam airdrop is to report the account so that it could get blocked or banned from the media space

I think twice before bothering with anything sponsored even on legit ecom platforms like amazon, and this is Facebook, scammers heaven. I have closed my FB account years ago, never looked back. Less social media, less scams you see.

Looks like they are promoting this scam massively and maybe they are being successful to hack users account as I have seen this ad several times when I was browsing Facebook and Messenger. In one day I saw this ad 4/5 times. Thay already got 770 likes and 10 Shares and It's really a matter of worry.  So everyone please research properly and check official announcement everytime when you join any airdrop and presale.

OP, you should include their Facebook link here, so that users can see and check it more easily, this way it will be easier and remember about the Sui Airdrop scam.
Thanks for reminding, YOSHIE. Now I have added the link and archive too.

Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform
This is so basic for an educated Cryptocurrency investor, if any platform or individual asks you to put your private keys to their platform or asks you to send funds for a gas fee, you can mark these as a scam, your private keys are yours and only legit wallets will ask you to fill in your private keys.
Do not trust new platforms and moderate your greed for useless airdrop tokens, social ads are deceiving when it comes to Cryptocurrency and social media platforms easily accept these kinds of advertisers because there is where they made money, you should be good at ignoring these ads, the more you are good at ignoring, the safer you will be.

What Happened: Today I was browsing my messenger and suddenly I have been showed a Facebook ad which offering Scam Sui Airdrop which is worth of 100 Sui. So they are offering 100 Sui for joining Scam Airdrop. But their pure intention is to hack users wallet because they are asking users Trust wallet and Metamask Secret Recovery Phrase. They also have requirements to have minimum 0.1 BNB or 0.02 Eth to claim 100 Sui so that they can easily steal that assets.
In fact, the SUI project did not launch an Airdrop for early participants in the network, so if someone is a good follower of an official SUI accounts on social media, he will know on his own that this is unreasonable. Scammers take advantage of the hype of popular projects in the market to launch phishing sites bearing the same name as the target project and promote them on social media sites and not only on Facebook, so their tricks are known, and any site that appears in an advertisement does not at all indicate that it is legit, so the person must conduct his research first and never puts his wallet phrases or private key in any sites that appear in these advertisements or links his wallet.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE
Not only ads but Facebook user's posts, group posts, and pages these ads have more visibility and are targeted, advertisers of these kinds of ads can manipulate the algorithm of the information of the ads they are showing and because these are automated they can get it and become visible to the platform users.
Users are the products of Facebook they make money from your activity so they based it on your activity to track what ads to show and if you like, and comment you will be shown ads related to what you liked and commented.

I think this was the scam that has been said on the other thread on bitcoin discussion when I've asked what was the new type of scam was.

If it's on Facebook, they don't really clean out these scammers ads and they just allow it to happen on their platform. Well, the same thing with Google and they're even approving sponsored top appearance ads on their search engine.

That's why these scams are saying that there should be an amount at least you've got in your wallet because once you automatically connect to their phishing link, CMIIW that this smart contract that they've got automatically drains out any balance on yuor wallet that you approved to connect to them.

OP, I also saw Sui Airdrop on Twitter, it seems that fraudsters are not only targeting Facebook, other social media are also their target to carry out their fraudulent actions, yes, it's really good for you to warn the community here about this fraud.

OP, you should include their Facebook link here, so that users can see and check it more easily, this way it will be easier and remember about the Sui Airdrop scam.
So my suggestion is that Never share your keys or Phrase to anyone.
And always be alert from any kind of scamming and secure your funds.
Indeed lately Metamask and Trust have become the target of fraudsters to drain users' crypto funds, this is an important thing for crypto users, the importance of researching something before going further.

So Facebook Team should take care of the ads what they are broadcasting.
the amount of ad scams circulating on Facebook I don't think they care about doing a background check on those ads, they only care about getting paid for those ads.

Unfortunately, they only rely on reports to even take down ads that are clearly scam.
and what's worse is that most of the time even if you report them they don't take any action. In my experience, the majority of the ads I've seen and reported that are clearly a scam rarely get taken down.

These scammers using famous social media Twitter, telegram and Facebook. They also use google search engine to target innocent newbie. First time i saw Facebook ads for scam site. before this i experiences Twitter and Search engine. This type of phising is easy to detect because they ask for recovery phrase and newbie are also aware that phrase should not be shared. some sites are more dangerous and they automatically send your fund after connecting.

I no longer use Facebook app can remember the last time I looked into my Facebook account to view and read messages there so I think I should be free from a scam like this.

Back to the Op, the fact that the site is requesting those participating in the airdrop for their secret phrase should instantly alert them that it's a pure scam. Like I normally say "It's called secret phrase for a reason" It has been echoed throughout the forum several times that once a scam site is requesting your private key or secret phrases, it's a clear indication that the site is a scam. I believe only those blinded by greed are going to fall for this type of scam.

Your keys, your responsibility
I must say the worst mockery if any user falls for this scam. The thing is, sentences like "don't share seed phrases in places that are not credible" are the default warnings in all crypto wallets.

Unfortunately, they only rely on reports to even take down ads that are clearly scam.

Bitcoin To The Moon 📈📈📈
Facebook never filters the type of fraudulent ads strictly. I have encountered a lot about this case, as with other crypto offers, which in the end have to enter the Seed Phrase into a phishing site that has been created by scammers, it's no wonder you see this kind of ad on Facebook.

But here, I really appreciate you reminding people who don't know that there is no Sui airdrop being promoted on Facebook, all of which are clearly scams.

Currently, Sui Network is in hype as the project is running a public sale and also whitelisting on 3 major exchanges: Bybit, Kucoin, and OKX.

Currently, Bybit has raised $1,814,469 from whitelisted users, so stay alert, scammers are always taking advantage of the current hype situation.

Archive Link: https://archive.ph/8BKyz

I think many of new users can trust this but not all which have minimum knowledge about crypto. But someone can be confused as they are watching this offer from Facebook Ads.
So Facebook Team should take care of the ads what they are broadcasting.

So my suggestion is that Never share your keys or Phrase to anyone.
And always be alert from any kind of scamming and secure your funds.

Here is the Interface where they are offering phishing Airdrop.

Here is the Notice where they telling that they will give 100 Sui each to only Trust Wallet and Metamask users.

Here they are asking to Import Metamask and Trust Wallet so that they can easily hack and steal users funds. They are also reminding to have minimum 0.1 BNB or 0.02 Eth in users wallet.

So everydat new scam tricks are launching and many users are falling into them. We should have more awareness against them so that we all can prevent Scammers.
Always Be Safe
