Same scammer, same scamming system. They just changed the domain name. It seems like more fake chainlink scams will come everyday. I'll update this thread if I find more.

I doubt anyone really falls for scam like this anymore. One who holds an amount of cryptocurrency should have basic knowledge about managing it, and one of them is never to divulge your private keys to a third party, or use an address which you do not own the private keys to as a means of storing funds.
The scammers might gef a couple of private keys, but u think the wallets would hold little of no funds in them.

Also, do not click on unsolicited links, download apps or grant certain permissions to some apps on your device.

You cannot say so confidently about this. Because every day new people are joining in the crypto currency. Newbies haven’t great knowledge about scams like this. They are unaware of these scams. If scammers were not successful, they would not create scam websites every day with new ideas. Of course they get victims. I posted for those who are unaware of such scams. I think this thread can help them.

Well I wouldn't criticize whatever that actually happened to those who are already victim to this obvious scam which could have be averted. Most of these guys are very lazy to read in between lines while they look forward to earn what I called zero money from airdrops and bounties. How on earth will someone asking you of your private key and you're ready to hive them the private key and seeds inclusive? That's ridiculous indeed. I hate airdrops and those who are desperate for money.

This is the case where mostly fell on this scheme. Many of my friends got compromise cause of too much joining on airdrop and they got hacked because of the app they downloaded. Tsk, greedyness will be the reason of their downfall sometime.

But sometimes people falls unconsciously due to greedy nature. Usually people become more greedy when they see there is free money but they don't know nothing is free on the world.

Free money is very tempting indeed but I can't agree that there is nothing free on this world. There still some who really gave away some free tokens or cryptocurrency such as bitcoin  for simple task like retweeting. But airdrops associated with clicked link task should be the one they should avoid like what's OPs topic. Also Private key is a common sense that should not be divulge to anyone.

To get an airdrop, they asking wallet private key for verification! I heard this first time!

OP, this isn't new scheme many airdrops in the past which uses Google form frequently ask the private key and some still fall for this. I dont know if they really doesn't know or just too desperate for the amount offer of the giveaway.

Anyway nice thread this can keep remind them about this kind of scam. Hope they read and absorb what is written here.

I had heard similar story couple of months ago and some people falls on such as tricks, in a result eventually they had got scam.

Every crypto users knowledge are not same. There is even such as people who don't know very well what is the private keys and where should use. Mostly these kind of people fall that scam attempt. That's why people should learn before entered on crypto-currency. They should acquire minimum knowledge, otherwise there will be always back door for scammers/hackers.
Its the problem with people these days, they just let their greediness to be the foundation of their decision and they don't analyze how it makes an impact on the outcomes because they only think the possible benefits they might get but they don't realize that it was the scammers approach to deceive them. Despite of the warn and advice given by concern people in the forum, people still never learn until they end up being on the same situation. Sometimes your knowledge won't do anything if you allow your greediness to take control of everything because you're not in the right mind to make the right choices.

This scam is really ridiculous, if we learn a bit about wallets, we understand easily that seeds and private keys are the most important things. If we lose the private key, we will lose all the money in our address. They have a nice website, but come with a cheap scam  Smiley

Obviously, this is not a sly trick  Roll Eyes It can only use novices who lack security knowledge in cryptocurrency. Personally, I think that it is not too dangerous for the community  Smiley Anyone who lets greed go beyond understanding deserves the consequences. Many people may disagree with my thinking, but greed should not affect the way we work.
However, for good purposes, I support topics like this continue to be posted here, for newbie can take an extra lesson. If you own a wallet with your private key, don't show it to anyone  Wink

@Upgrade00 many will still fall victim to this scam. In my early days I couldn't understand the difference between private and public keys, so, I was scammed Ethereum worth of $700 two years ago. Upgrade00, you are a good knowledgeable individual on the forum but should know that newbies are equally here and should be caution concerning these svams. Although, many of these newbies will still not learn due to the human nature called Ojukokoro.

@Coolcryptovator you correct because we have to bring to their notice these repeatedly ways scammer used and still using. The problem with these newbies in cryptocurrency communities is, they aren't ready to learn, most of them never care to research into what they fell in love with but rather want get rich quick symptoms.

Today someone send me a link. In the link, I see chainlink giving airdrop. At first I realized it was a fake airdrop. But I fill up the form (with 10 Eth balance address  Grin) to see their activities. What I saw, they are trying to steal people's ethereum wallet's private keys. Many may have already been their victims because of their greed.  Newbies please remember If anyone wants private key for airdrop they are definitely a scammer. If you notice their domain name, you can understand that they are fake. But many newbie don't look at website url.

Website Link:
Code:
https://chainlink.one/

They first made an announcement about what's going on in this airdrop. This time they did not talk about sending funds, they say to hold funds in the wallet. Because they will take your private key by when you fillup the form .then scammer will transfer your fund to his wallet. Because you gave him access to your wallet. That's why never give your private key to anyone.

Here the scammer is asking for your wallet address and information about the fund. They will not accept exchange wallet address. You have to give your wallet address that you have the private key of the address! Because their purpose is to steal your private key.

Here is the real place. Because scammers are successful if you fill it out. To get an airdrop, they asking wallet private key for verification! I heard this first time! Newbies always beware from such offers they will hack your wallet. Because there is no way to earn such a huge amount free.
