Most of the victims to these types of phishing scams are newbies who do not have previous experience with dealing with an online, hosted wallet, and don't know which hosted wallet is even legitimate, let alone which one is a phishing site of the legitimate wallet.
It's not even just limited to wallets,it's basically any online service with a fake domain advertised on google.Using an anti-virus which also provides web security solutions is an idea way to go.

Though we can expect this issue to subside after Google does ban crypto ads in the next month or so, which is something that is positive that came out of that ban.
It will ban ICO/Crypto investment banks and not wallets to be specific. They are against the ICO operations and not stable wallet services like blockchain.info etc.
Therefore it would still exist if thats the case.As you said Google do only prohibits when it comes to ICO's and theres no such decision been made in regarding into crypto wallet links. For experienced eyes you would easily point out which is a phishing site or not but being a newbie doesnt mean he would really experienced to be scammed because there are people who are sensible enough to learn up things for the first time this reading up things on this forum will really be helpful.
Web wallet or Exchange phishing sites as an investor we will really need to be fully aware on whats happening into our surroundings and learn up as many as we can as necessary because this will a helpful tool that will make us to avoid potential threats of losing money.
If you are on doubts or not sure on the thing you should do then its not really bad to seek out information first into the community. Asking or typing on the url search bar doesn't really consume too much time.

It's for sure an issue that people have to look out for.

Most of the victims to these types of phishing scams are newbies who do not have previous experience with dealing with an online, hosted wallet, and don't know which hosted wallet is even legitimate, let alone which one is a phishing site of the legitimate wallet.

I would advise everyone to not click on any google ads, it's just not safe practice. If you need to find a crypto wallet without the URL through a search engine, make sure that you cross-check the site's URL to see if it is the official site.

Though we can expect this issue to subside after Google does ban crypto ads in the next month or so, which is something that is positive that came out of that ban.

It's not that hard to type the exact URL on the address bar and type the web wallet that you use.
Exactly mate it's not hard to type exact URL on the address bar just typing the correct URL,
don't be lazy and not reading what you are clicking it's better to read first the site before the click.

Well, I can suggest that you might bookmark your previous visit to avoid the wrong log in site.
But honestly, I personally hope that this case will be solved by Google company to avoid more victims of this scam possible.
We all know it so that's like a protocol to us to bookmark the most important websites that we are using or type it correctly.
Google can be alarmed if they receive batch of reports about these phishing links that can mislead a lot of crypto users and newbies.

I hope that google will take action about this or block any copy pasted website to prevent people to click phishing or fake site.
You can help them to take action by reporting them continuously. They are not a fan of crypto's so they are not aware of what's a scam, or a phishing link is because they don't know who are the legit ones.
Mostly avoid Google search or any other search engine to access the fund oriented sites like wallets, exchange and etc...

I experienced that when i was using other computer with different ip i noticed that there are many different phishing and fake site so if you are newbie expect that you can be victim of this type of strategy if you didn't verify first the website before using the apps downloaded from the pgishing site you can be hack. I hope that google will take action about this or block any copy pasted website to prevent people to click phishing or fake site.

Phishing site bump on the first according to the keyword they have picked come up at the top. If the SEO management company gives the better search result and they can steal more money. These phishing site fuckers will pay more to them.
I believe this what happening with the Google search results op found.
If bookmarked the page, there would not be a problem from these sites. Mostly avoid Google search or any other search engine to access the fund oriented sites like wallets, exchange and etc...

OP, what you discovered isn't a new time. The URL to the site you posted can easily give it away, if one is very vigilant.  Sometimes ago, a forum user here also made the same discover about some phishing too that looks extremely the same as that of blockchain.info wallet. Here is the post; https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32594704  Users needs to be careful before accessing any site on Google.

There was a similar thread a while ago and, again, I went on to check it myself. Even with adblock I've got two ads and first one www.kapitalrs.com/trgovanje/berze‎
and the second one's www.electrum.com/Download/Crypto-Wallet‎.
So, it's probably on your side and what websites and services you visited. Try deleting cookies and cache and then google search again.
Ohh I was related to that case victim of phishing site when I trade my token in etherdelta and I was found out that was fake URL,
You can search the site directly without using google chrome, or much better bookmark those you have visited already a site for the future purposes. In this way maybe having a chance not to encounter phishing site.

I heard many stories about advertisements of phishing wallets shown in Google Search results. And I noticed that it become common to advertise phishing web wallets for coins like TRX, ADA, XLM, EOS and others. Many people don't know wallets for these coins, so after making Google search for wallets for these coins they just visit first website that they see in search results.
But soon these advertisements of phishing websites will disappear - Google will ban crypto related advertisements on June.

It will not really help in the end. Google's Chrome Store is also a target for these con artists. In the last months the number of removed fake wallet apps has gone through the roof, and if they no longer can spam their toxic links through ads, they will allocate more time to developing scam apps that they then list in the Chrome Store. I seriously hope that Google won't eventually start ditching crypto apps from its store. It's frustrating to see how one marginal part of this market causes that much damage. If people did some actual research and exercise caution with everything they do, these scams wouldn't be this readily available in quantity....

That's why you need to check and don't blatantly clicking random links from unknown links like everyone does. Bookmark or just type it manually, it is much better than relying with the URL link prediction. They suck and you shouldn't use that anymore.

When I started  into bitcointalk forum. I was using the blockchain wallet receive the payment and I did not get the issue until I use the perfect URL. Once I have search the blockchain wallet using google search.
That time, I got into the scam phishing site with the wallet identifier and password.
Finally I loose all the bitcoins I have in my blockchain wallet. After that to now I have moved to use the Coinbase wallet.

even using adblock extension it will not block google search ads, at least not for me.
Then you are using a bad adblock.

I recommend uBlock Origin (chrome/firefox). Haven't seen a single Google ad in more than 1 year. And for those who manage to bypass the block, I manually add it to the filter and never see them again.

you were right, i was using a bad adblock, uBlock Origin works just fine, thanks.
It will be more better to use google chrome browser because which supoorts mkst of the extensions than other browsers and some like opera comes with inbuilt opera but it will be better to use the best adblocker to avoid anything like this in future. But I am juat now hearing about ublock extension so i need to try out soon.

This is not the first time and not even the last time for this issue from google ads on the SERP. Adblockers are the best choice for this type of scams/misleading sites from any ads which were mentioned too many times above and also the user's own knowledge.

And its a shame of google to cut down all crypto ads that they blame those sites related to crypto because of this scams, while the truth is that they can't and never filtered from there own platform those phishing sites that caused people to be fooled and scammed in the end. They're the one who's responsible why people get scammed from those shitty ads.

Exactly, Google company tolerated those ads that may leak scamming and fooled people at the end if they did not notice that the link they entered was a phishing site. That's why I personally did not search on the google, I directly input on searching tab or much more safer bookmark your latest website viewed. I don't think so if google company did not aware of this shitty ads.

I wonder why the other thread was moved to Archival.

Anyway this is just the same with those phishing links that are existing now and is using google ads to promote and catch a victim.

Just keep on reporting these scams and with that help, you'll be doing the best thing that you can and you are contributing big to the community.

when i was doing some keywords researches, I found this phishing site that is a complete clone of the online wallet blockchain.info
be careful when using search engines, this phishing site is so professional made that you can't tell the difference between the real and the fake one

in search result the ad have the domain name "blockchainnorth.se" that get redirected to "blockclnains.info/index.html" you can check it yourself

edit: while i was writing this the ad got taking down, but the phishing site is still up.

This because people giving ads with the help of Google adwords campaign. If you bet for the keyword you can get the pop up on the first as much of hits they given above. I am not sure, are they make money or not.
Because adwords campaign cost them more. If they pay also not good to manage it.

To make ourself safe, we first need to use the perfect URL for the wallet. Whether it is blockchain or MEW, condition is same for every wallet.

As I have mentioned on the other thread about the same issue, it would be a big help you'll report these Phishing sites on google.

Please report any Phishing page that you'll see in Google search results at https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en
Reference with detailed info: Prevent & report phishing attacks

Since you already installed an ad block, just report the one you saw yesterday. It would be a relief if those sites will be taken down right away (not just the ad, but the site itself).

Installing ad block wasn't an assurance that you'll be safe with phising attacks, because some feature of those intruder's softwares were highly dangerous. They have their own stealth program which can ignore preventive softwares such as ad block. However, let me suggest a trusted and reliable antivirus software that can protect you from this kind of circumstances that's merely possible to happen anytime. Eset nod32 antivirus can help you all of these phising matters, it can protect and defend your privacy especially the browsing activities you had will be closely monitored and am confidently conclude that it made my whole pc system smooth for years.
No one said that there's an assurance though. He installed it to prevent seeing or accidentally clicking phishing sites on Google Ads, not particularly to be safe in all phishing sites out there.

Anyway, the person himself still need to be cautious and don't just depend on whatever app/software he has. Even an anti virus (regardless if it's Eset, Norton, BitDefender, etc.) cannot protect you/your PC 100%.  Cheesy
There would be always a flaw and theres no assurance 100% that we would really be safe into those dangerous things like phishing or even malwares that can be possibly downloaded accidentally. It would really just still depend on how cautious we are as a pc user.If you arent aware onto those things like you dont have any idea on the first place then you should make up some research anytime.Make yourself learning so that you would be aware on whats happening around.

These types of scams are quite common, and happens all the time with all crypto related services essentially, whether it be a wallet, an exchange, or even a bitcoin mixer. Always be careful when clicking on google ads. In fact, don't click on them at all.

As Tryninja said, use an adblocker if possible. That's the most direct route.

Google's going to take out these ads I believe in a few months anyways so it's not going to be a concern anymore. But doesn't mean that google is the only route by which phishing links can spread, there can be a multitude of ways, including email as well. Bookmarking the crypto exchange or wallet you frequently visit can be helpful as well, or simply remember the URL.

Well I bet they are the same guys who created blockchaln.info which spoofed in google results couple years ago, by the way, is this referring to blockchain.info ? cause I checked the site as you've mentioned on the op "blockchainnorth.se" it does not even look similar to blockchain.info but totally different it's a site about an upcoming event or something.
The point is never google the site just bookmark it and check the address before you enter your sensitive data.
