I think this is going to go the way the Aztec calender went and the date will keep being pushed back.
Its pretty simple issue if you just do not leave bitcoin all on one site over night or for to long of periods you shelter your exposure to losing to much coin.

What is the deal with May 24th? It is because Lisk will officially start trading?

Its 5th of may and yobit still standing, but my friends suggested me to minimize my funds in case anything happen in there, i hope that yobit wont turned out scam, but everyone needs to be extra careful

I got my funds there to a minimum. In no way do they seem a trusted exchange to me. At best I would hold j.03BTC there.
With more I don't trust them enough.

May 1st has passed and YoBit hasn't pulled a cryptsy scam. No matter what happens, don't leave a lot of coins in your a trading website. Of course there's a chance that a website will get hack especially if it holds a lot of values. Some websites might pull out an excuse that they got "hacked" or smth.

Anyway, YoBit might smell like a scammy website to most people because of their bad support.

First of May has arrived, time to see if there is any weight behind this warning. I am still going to stick to what i believe, Yobit is making enough cash to please the owners without having to go all cryptsy on us. They only take the profit without any effort put in.

There is a high probability that they will pull a mtgox/cryptsy style robbery. Yobit is one of the scammiest exchanges I have ever been to. I think they are going to take the money and run before they have to honor the lisk ious.

I think you lose in yobit, thats why you doing this Roll Eyes Grin

BTC to the moon is inevitable...
We already know we can't trust exchange sites as they could go gox any moment but yobit could just be different. They've been around for years and had been paying good to all who participated their signature campaign. I'm quite sure they are earning well enough not to go crypsy/
Yeah your right but not all.. maybe if the price ofbitcoin after block halving has been doubled maybe they will be run after price increase and sell and sell some altoins to other exchange sites so that they can make more money.. all online related in bitcoin is not trusted unlike exchange sites that accept paypal the deposit.. so the you have to power to dispute the site.. all trading sites are not too legit because this is all online base and no real identity from the owner of the sites..
But for now as i can trading there.. i think they have no plan to run because if you remember yobit is starting a signature contest and they are planning to change their signature.. and if im the owner of yobit i have no plan to run your coins because this is a passive income and even the value of bitcoin is increase or decrease im still making a money in my site..
If you are not believe better to save your coins to other wallet that you know that is safe..

exchangers don't run away because of the bitcoin price increase like what cryptsy did, they claim they have been hacked and they release some sob story and then try to show themselves as victims who can't do anything too.

you should never trust an online service (not only exchangers but any service) with your money and you should always cash out before it is too late and keep the funds with yourself and deposit only when you want to make a trade.

besides the signature contest and all the things like that does not change the fact that they are a bad service, and the customers (we who are using thier service are not happy with how they handle things, like crappy support team or wallets that are in maintenance for over a week.

Think its clear that people should not leave funds of any substantial amount on any exchange as the chances are they could wake up to a closed account. Picking on Yobit sounds like some past issues otherwise you would be addressing all exchanges and not pinpointing to one.
Will mark the date and see how correct you are wizard. Cheesy

Na, i can say reputable exchanges like polo will be around with no imminent scam on the horizon. But Yobit sticks out like a sore thumb. It's pretty obvious that they are fixing to scam at this point.

What should happen on May 1st, any reasons why OP mentioned this date? Because now I don't see any reasons why Yobit should become scam. For me it looks like another attempt from Yobit opponents to provoke panic and steal users from Yobit.

Everything working ok, they are doing some updates and the bot is not working like it should (in signature campaign) . They have always paid me daily , and unless you have solid proof , this remains a shittpost  so you better delete it, no point in accusing someone without solid evidence.

This might happen, it might not.  Nobody really saw Crypsty falling to pieces as it did, maybe Yobit will.be hanging around longer than the rest, they must make a good bit when adding every single coin taking advantage of the early pump and dumpers.

Actually there was a clue: About 18 months before Cryptsy crashed, it increased the fee to withdraw BTC from, 0.0001BTC to 0.001BTC. A 10% increase that wasn't required by the network. Then they added a 0.5% fee on top in the two months before they closed.

The only other place I've seen that happen was on Vircurex, which did the same thing (increased fees to withdraw), and then about six months later, they announced they were hacked and froze accounts.

So that's the tell: exchanges trying to make it expensive to withdraw.

Agree 100%. I never left much on cryptsy but when they added that fee I'm made sure I had literally zero on there.

Same with MtGox BTW. When the problems started and were blamed on all sorts of excuses, I got all my coins out. It cost me money in lost profits from trading, but i lost nothing from MtGox failing.

nice to see someone else who feels the same way i did back then.

as soon as they changed their rules about fees i felt something bad is about to happen and when i told others nobody believed me, until they ran away with people's money.

there is always red flags before these services turn into scam, and this thing with YOBIT is just another one of them. them adding LISK before the release and faking the volume the first day was just showing them being desperate and by the time of withdrawal,.... i don't even wanna know what will happen.

People who day trade will always have to leave the money there, is not that they like having their money there, but that's how it works. I doubt there is serious investors leaving their money in the hand of dubious companies with such record (I know they are not all the same, but they are all exposed more or less). Poloniex and Kraken seem to be the most serious ones so far.

Actually they did.  I saw a lot of posts about Cryptsy being a scam and goxxing everyone when they added the .5% btc withdrawal fee, and it got louder and louder from there until the point where they went down.  People saw it coming and there were lots of signs.

OP actually has a point. Why risk your coins when you can withdraw them and see what is going to happen when LISK goes live and then if all is good send them back?

This is just speculation not that I am defending Yobit based on their transaction fee they cannot afford to go scam at this point of times, transactions are on their all time high their dice game is doing great,it's like saying they are going to fold when they are on top of their games,I believe they have assets that can cover what will happen to lisk..

When mtgox pulled the plug, they were at the height of transactions and volume. The best time to pull this scam is when the site is busiest, means more money to steal.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
What is the significance of May 1st? Did you just pull that date out of thin air, or is some event supposed to happen by then?

did you even read the first post. let me bold the part:

Quote
they are going to take the money and run before they have to honor the lisk ious.

my opinion:
- you have to be careful about all the exchangers and all of them (like cryptsy) will show some warnings before running away.
- yobit did a very bad thing and all the LISK that people have bought on their exchanger is what they may or may not have so if people have bought more than what they own by May 1st it is going to be a bloodshed on yobit for withdrawal of LISK to other exchangers.

Do you have evidence to support your claim. If not, then it is just a fud. We will ignore any kinds of fud.

He probably doesn't but you would be well served to assume that any exchange will either run off with your money or be hacked and lose it (and not infrequently the former while claiming the latter).

Well we should know that,so it's a wise decision to only put coins here for trading not for storing, keep your coins on your wallet, they could run anytime but giving it a time,it means he is either a psychic or working on Yobit to get the inside news..

While they are as scummy as it can get i do not think they will run away with anyones money. The volume they get is decent so they make money off the fees + they can always host more ICO's and they get payd when they list new coins.

On top of that they make a killing from their dice.

So no, there is no way they will pull a cryptsy, they just make way too much money with the site right now.

if you are serious on this why not put up a 10 btc challenge that Yobit will scam users on May 1 that will be profitable for you and so people will see how good your psychic ability and you will become a celebrity, you will then going to be featured on every blogs and articles and maybe big tv networks will feature you..
