This thread is a must read for those who are eager to get some merit as soon as possible. There is a saying also that "If you're rushing things, that wont do good" just wait patiently and time will come others will give you merit that you deserved.
Merit is also can be compared with respect "Merit is earned not given".

This is certainly one of the most creative threads related to merit system by a new member. I agree to you on all these aspects especially the patience part. Most of the members are expecting instant merits which will not  happen for all.

For all who don't know, Warren Edward Buffett is an American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist which has a net worth of $91.6 billion USD and that makes him the third wealthiest person of the world. He had the famous quotes to the success which can be compared to the current Merit system that is being implemented for the higher good.

1. Never stop learning
According to Charlie Munger from Berkshire, Warren Buffet focused its activities on a couple of things, with maximum focus on them. Working for 50 years, he has become an expert in these things, just like Roger Federer is a tennis master. In other words, Buffett realized what he was doing good and constantly doing so by adopting new knowledge.

Metaphorically:
Knowledge can bring you the desired progress. Quality knowledge can be rewarded or sMerited. With the knowledge, your Merit will grow in time so never stop learning and always try to absorb new knowledge!

2. The key is patience
In business, but also in many other things, patience is important, if not a crucial factor. The Buffet knew when to wait, though it could easily release the pressure and "squeeze the bucket". But instead of making a decision, he "sat down" and waited for a better offer that eventually came. Patience very often means - step forward.

Metaphorically:
Do not be impatient and demand a Merit for yourself to advance through the ranks. Merit will come with time and patience is the key to success!

3. Give recognition to your colleagues
Every successful entrepreneur did not succeed alone. There were always other successful colleagues, workers or business partners who did their part of the job. If you want to track the tracks of Warren Buffett, never forget to thank or reward people who have helped you on your way to success.

Metaphorically:

Do not be scruffy with sMerits. Get recognized for the quality of a specific topic or post. Always reward the knowledge you have been provided with; in this case sMerit those who deserve it because with the incentive comes a greater commitment to better quality!
