Lightning network may be released (Who knows though. It seems like it is almost always close to being released). Also, it will be the first full year where bitcoin is mainstream. Bitcoin may collapse or it may moon. This year may be the year that we see whether it will truly succeed or fail.
There is nothing to indicate that bitcoin would collapse ,so that theory is outdated ,hopefully they will be implementing the lightening network soon and everyone will be activating segwit so that all the transactions will be smooth,everyone is thinking about the price of bitcoin going up or down,i would like to see the price being stable for sometime rather than going up or down.
