I dont see how this relates, besides pointing on another scammer on this forum.

But, hes talking about regarding on his situation with a ebay listing, not any of the domains that the other scammer guy has there. Also ebay isnt mentioned once on the other thread you linked.

It seems a lot of fraud is happening on ebay.

Which is pretty ironic, because most dont get away with it in the end. And the funds usually charge back on the card gets credited, but in this case you got suckered sending bitcoin. Its the same thing as sending bitcoin without escrow, shit happens and its better to avoid terrible things waiting to happen.

yeah I will file a claim on this purchase  on monday.  too bad I would not have minded a decent deal but the seller does not answer me and provided a bad tracking number.

Wow so you also had problems. I thought my problems where over on Ebay myself  as jsut bought some items for my phone and no respond from them and almost 2 weeks up for shipping has passed and ETA is today or tomorrow already sent 3 emails regarding missing items or marketed as not even shipped out and still no communication so no doubt this going to be a claim tomorrow or Wednesday if items not arrived. Ebay needs to get their act together with crucks and scammers. Then again I might just even do what every one else does when shipping from over seas. Oh sorry never received item in post and make claim to send another out or claim refund and get double wammy. Then that would add me to the scam list  lol.

I purchased a miner on ebay a while back

http://www.ebay.com/itm/321705940603?

and the chances are I am not going to get a miner from this person.  I paid paypal and will look to file a claim at the end of the week.

If I had paid in BTC I would have been like the op.

notice all the negative feedbacks in the last month.

he was 200 good and 1 bad when I purchased it  he now has 9 bad marks soon to be 10.

indeed I would never buy in BTC on ebay they do not take bitcoin but listings have it in saying accept BTC as payment to buy and generally a lot of them like that people get shafted and never get anything in return. It is bad enough using paypal and then getting nothing in return. Simple answer is do not by only buy from places that are well known or trusted people to buy from then risk and lose out or have to go down the road of claiming back.

While I know folks rage about the high prices on Ebay, it's a very open system in terms of what folks are willing to pay. Separate from that is how you pay for your Ebay purchase. I know that Paypal fees are no fun, but sending Bitcoin is even more risky than sending actual cash to a PO box. At this stage in the life of Ebay, if someone won't take PayPal, I usually look at another listing. To me it's a huge REDflag, in addition to their feedback rating.

simple answer to buying on ebay. Do not buy mining equipment unless has really good feedback and you can contact the seller directly over the phone via email and has an address can pick up from. Had 2 people try to pull a quick one on me but luckly kept all messages that where sent via ebay messages and also by email and photo proof of stuff that was sent and what was delivered and got refunded by ebay and paypal buying policies. If you dont want to get into problems simply do not buy equipment listed on Ebay unless you are willing to take risk of not getting anything or damaged equipment as a result of shipping or never worked in the first place when sent. I have had many things off ebay for normal items but when comes to mining equipment theirs nothing but problems.

I think, the meaning is he paid with BTC via ebay.
Just to clarify - you can't pay for items on ebay in Bitcoin via ebay (or paypal) except maybe in some locales (South America? can't find a solid reference).

The way it usually works is that the seller puts an "I also accept Bitcoin, contact me" thing in the description - sometimes slightly hidden away as ebay doesn't allow it, as per earlier link.  The buyer then contacts them, gets payment details, and...they're no longer doing any business via ebay.  Ebay at that point might as well have been craigslist Smiley

I recently purchased a bfl monarch for 1.75BTC(Nothing I know but its the concept here) this was the first and only time I will have ever trusted someone trading in BTC on Ebay. Anyway he refused to ship and never confirmed my payment.

He has multiple user names and accounts but they are all from: Montgeron, France

Just a heads up to everyone!

How did you pay ? By Paypal?

Well, he said he paid 1.75 BTC. Do you mean that Paypal now can do transaction in BTC instead of just fiat only?

Wow, we must be more careful. Even in ebay, everything is not trustable.

Just as a general warning: Don't pay in BTC for ebay listings.  In fact, don't use any payment methods that don't go (in part) through ebay itself - which means you'll generally be limited to paypal/credit card and the odd sanctioned third party payment provider.
There are good reasons why ebay has this page besides stuffing their own coffers.

That said, there have been previous posts where ebay has shown some interest in making things right for people who decided to bypass ebay, and filling in their contact form takes less than a minute.  If communication went through ebay, they should have records of the payment address and the blockchain should have the record of transaction.  If communication also happened off-site, you're slightly more screwed Wink

Exactly couldn't have said it better! Everything is well documented with blockchain confirmations but STILL im an idiot lol I fudged up and am out 1.75BTC totally my fault. Just thought maybe people can learn from my experience. I got TOO comfortable!! Not everyone in the community is as nice and normal as everyone in the forum! Quite the opposite actually! I classify one that is opportunistic in the face of someone else s loss a leacher, he/she might have karma come around in the form of some "advanced penetration testing" pun fully intended Smiley

It is a bad idea to do side deals with people on ebay with BTC.   Just think about it if they are willing to cheat ebay/paypal don't you think they will cheat you as well?

I'm sure there are some that might go well.  But I would not even buy from someone that is trying to offer a BTC deal hidden in ebay auction.
