Everyone who has some stake and has invested in crypto should be on the look out for scammers as they are everywhere. Some have schemes that they have come up with to get people to put their private keys into phishing sites and then they steal all of their crypto. Everyone needs to be very careful, crypto is very safe on its own but scammers and hackers are what make it dangerous

I do not even know how this can happen. I do not send my personal keys to anyone. Perhaps they are just trained to receive very personal information without our permission.

This is silly. Most likely because of their mistakes people accidentally send private keys from their wallet. Moreover, we are small people who have nothing to steal. And even more so to guess the key of 64 characters is almost impossible.
It's not silly, and you're not even close to how people steal files and password information. The likely guess is that the email may contain a link to a website that has an exploit kit on it, delivering an encrypted botnet payload designed to steal wallet files and keylog the passwords.

Also the airdrops wallets they tell you to download may just have an encrypted botnet bind on the file as well that executes hidden when the other file executes.

Do not waste your time in airdrops wont get your private keys, normally they will just require you to fill up some form with your bitcontalk account, wallet address and optional with email addresses you can use dummy email address so that you wont receive phishing emails from these people.

hi folks I want to warn all the participants in the airdrops There are a bunch of scammers They steal the privet key of myetherwallet i dont know how they do that but i think by sending you an email and when you check the email and click on it they can access to all the file in your pc and steal the key i dont know how that works i'm not an expert so don't put any of the private key in the computer or in your phones .
Oh,thanks for the information! Another proof that joining airdrops is a waste of time and energy. I have decided for myself long ago not to them, instead I prefer participating in bounty campaignes. It takes more efforts, but the result is better!

Airdrop scams are increasing nowadays since it is very accessible and easy to most cryptocurrency traders who are looking for easy profit plus its normal for some airdrops to ask informations which can easily be altered by phishing sites. I suggest that you participate airdrops carefully and maybe join the telegram group first and observe the community.

If there are 100 airdrop 60-70 of them try to steal your funds bro. I use my rpi for airdrops mail and I'm relax with that.

Seriously?
But I think it depends on information that you will give from any site, in that way there's a big chance to steal your funds. The better you should do is don't just clicking any link that someone's give because there's possibility that is the way to hack.

There are some phishing sites, they imitate etherdelta, but they have subtle differences, maybe etherdelta2.com, or etherdelte.com, so when you have to open your eyes.

EtherDelta isn't safe this year due to many attacks on their servers and even on their DNS that you'll then redirected on their clone phishing website in order to get your keys.
Phishing is one of their main attack because blockchain servers are 99% attack proof so their only way to get money is to attack crypto holders remotely.

It's ok to join any bounty campaigns or airdrops available on this forum but never give your private keys for you not to be scammed.
Open MyEtherWallet on your browser and hit bookmark in order not to open phishing sites in the future.
That will prevent you on losing your crypto assets because you are the owner of your wallet and you are only the responsible on taking care of it.

At this point I would not advise anyone to participate in any kind of airdrops because almost all of them are scammers that are looking for a way to steal your coins by asking you to paste your private keys to log into your wallets in order to earn the coins from the airdrops. DON'T DO IT. Stay away from airdrops and if you need to earn some free tokens then do bounty and signature campaigns.

Thanks for the heads up, but I personally think it is unwise to store your private keys eletronically. Quite risky. Put it on a sheet of paper, with that it can never be hacked.

Thanks for the warning. I dont join airdrops by the way they are just a waste of time. Aside from they don pay, they will take thousands of participants so get only very few valueless tokens. Will reauire you also to,perform tasks whis is a waste of time also. Better bounty than airdrops.

Airdops cannot steal your private key because airdrop only got your ETH address during the survey or the form that you are going to fillup and submitted to thier site. The reason why we are scam its because we give directly our private and personal information and also wen we are  applying on airdrops.

But thank you for this information this is a big help for us.

You shouldnt be joing airdrops,or giving your main email addresses because these people will only going to send a lot of phishing emails and will try to steal your private keys that is why we shouldnt be using our email addresses if we are joining these airdrops, use some dummy email accounts so that you will be safe from these spam emails.

Honestly, the scammers are everywhere especially in the field of cryptocurrencies, so everyone should be wary of them, As well, I see that  many have been robbed by those scammers, because simply, they do not have much knowledge in the field that  they use ,  and unfortunately there are many idiots,  and everyone must learn how to protect himself before entering into the area of crypto.

On the other hand, the private key in "Myetherwallet" is a personal protection, and it is certain that  we should not give it to anyone. Otherwise, the airdrop is the easiest way to trick many people,  and the  greed is  prevalent in many of them, because  they want to make money in an easy way.

This is the fact evidence that blockchain technology and Cryptocurrencies are hack proof and the only way they could get something worth out of Crypto is to send malicious stuff to the users and holders that will trigger and giving them green light to penetrate their victim's computer and get private keys and other confidential stuff from your computer.
If they got your private key then  they could get every coin in your wallet and you'll wakeup the next day seeing empty wallet.
so, better stop joining Airdrops and focus on something else, that is joining bounty campaigns will offer you higher chance of getting new altcoins that will soon offer you good fortune.

that is why don't click any links from them because they are injecting worms and viruses in order they could penetrate your computer and they could get whatever they want.
I never joined even a single airdrops because I knew that they're not worth of my time and efforts because last year I have no good experiences on joining Airdrops because most of them are just plain useless and scams.

I have no problem with most airdrops, but I won't send payment to cover cost of delivery.

Also, do not open sketchy emails on your PC that has your crypto coins.  Do that on an old phone or something.  Better yet do it on a windows phone.

Exactly the main problem of Airdrops now
IMO, tons of Airdrops now are actually sketchy and scammy.

They would mostly first ask for Public address
Then tells you to login to claim your tokens and etc.
Then people end up going to the fake site

There are fake wallets out there that steal your coins. When a coin forks or a new coin comes out and people are confused, it isn’t uncommon to see fake wallets pop up. Make sure to use wallets officially endorsed by the entity or community behind the coin. If you are unsure, do more research. Following random online instructions can be a really bad move.

this is where anti malware programs should be working for you. I work in the tech industry and yes while it’s easy to make a script to look for a certain file from your hardrive, retrieving it is a bit of a stretch unless you were baited to another form that allowed the program to send the information back. I hope this serve as a lesson for everyone, the development of softwares to protect you from these kinds of attacks are there for a reason.

Nonetheless owning a cold wallet is always a great layer of security. There is no such thing as “Overly secured” especially ehen it’ thousands or millions worth of money is what you are talking about.

Be careful out there folks— 1. Never joins something that guarantees and are always to good to be true and 2. Always be secured.
Very useful advice. I know several people who recommended the same stuff that you advised which helped me out. So many people jump into the crypto world head first without thinking too much and focusing on quick profits who are targeted by hackers and scammers for easy money. Such investors conclude that this is mainly the problem with the crypto market itself and begin spreading FUD like crazy which shows how naive they truly are. For example, some people were spreading FUD recently saying that Binance was hacked while the truth was a trading bot was hacked. Be smart people.

How they can steal your private key through your eth address? Is that possible? 'cause I'm wondering 'cause actually those emails from airdrop is just a normal email which is its impossible to hack our private key.   unless if you used your private key to login on their sites then you verify it through the email from airdrop.  Hmmp

There are so many airdrops today that are unregulated and prone to scams. So let us not fall into their trap with too good to be true projects which they collect some personal data and some  private key on our wallets. So let's beware of these suspicious airdrops when they ask you some KYCrequirement, token donations and private key .

Yes for that we must be careful for the airdrop program, although not all airdrop programs like what you mentioned, but airdrop prize is small and it will make you lose time. It's better to follow the signature campaign, because it's more promising.

It could happen, when they send you a link to a pishing site of myetherwallet. So don't follow the links, then they will have no chance to hack your wallet. There are many scamming devs, but also airdrops of awesome cryptocurrencies.
yes this is right i agree with this, dont click the links they send especially if they personally email you some links offering ne airdrops or what so ever they want you to fill in, because in that way they can hack or access to your accounts i dont know how they did that but just be consious enough not to trust right away, because scammers are skilled people want to earn money in a bad way.

Thanks for this valuable information. Scammers won't really stop in their wrongdoings. Why there are people like this who's happy stealing from others. They don't have any respect to the feelings of their fellow human.

There are no free lunches under the sun. Although many airdrops can get free tokens by spending a small amount of time registering, it seems very appealing, but I would like to know how to study what airdrops are deceptive.

hi folks I want to warn all the participants in the airdrops There are a bunch of scammers They steal the privet key of myetherwallet i dont know how they do that but i think by sending you an email and when you check the email and click on it they can access to all the file in your pc and steal the key i dont know how that works i'm not an expert so don't put any of the private key in the computer or in your phones .
This would be a big reminder to many airdrop lover, scammers do lots of thing to scam us because that is their job we only need is to be careful and choose the airdrop which are possibly legit or create other wallet to received token from airdrop for our safety.

For safety of all people who love to join airdrops and you are unstoppable. Just don't send your private key to anyone. It's only for you to keep your funds safe and don't be so gullible that they will send your free tokens in exchange of your private keys that has balance. Once they gain access to your private keys, they can easily open your wallet.

I am totally confused, why a lot of hackers today can easily enter by building any forms of applications and then sometimes automatically downloaded to our gadgets. Many times I been discovered that some applications automatically downloaded to my phone. So, I difinitely say that social media also cannot detect hackers. Because they are giving way for some hackers entering here in social media. For me hackers can also contributes income into social media because they are freely here perform any abused and take advantage to other weak prople.

This is why I dont join on any airdrops anymore because of the scammers. Once you filled a form to join their airdrop they will send you an email and that email an attack to scam your private keys and other important things in your pc. It happen many times so better dont click an phishing attack in your email.
You should have installed an anti-malware/virus for safety reason. If you have one already then updating to latest version is very important.
I rarely join airdrop but if I join, I will not open a link they sent. It's better safe than sorry.
Anyway just continue your involvement in cryptocurrency and be careful from now on.

Airdrops wont get your private keys, normally they will just require you to fill up some form with your bitcontalk account, wallet address and optional with email addresses you can use dummy email address so that you wont receive phishing emails from these people,do not waste your time with these stupid airdrops instead join bounty programs.

Are you one of the KYC victims who sent all his data over the internet and clicked on a bunch of emails from the KYC company?

The hackers are using KYC to steal your funds.  Your handing them all the info.

Yeah the KYC scams are running rampant at this point.  People are getting seriously hurt when they make the mistake to compromise their personal documents.  Hackers now have a wealth of information on you to begin brute forcing into your computer to steal your funds.

In fairness with the Airdrops, there are also good and profitable coins you get from Airdrops, that was before when I participated in some. But today it was being abused, being used to scam people, thats why I get rid of these Airdrops and better participate in Social media campaigns or Signature campaings.
For your security, never ever input your private key in any of doubtful and unsafe websites and emails, and always bookmark everything legit.

There are so many scammers nowadays. Some are creating their own websites imitating the website we used to log in our credentials. We have to be alert and watchful on those things because they might trap us. Be watchful, everyone.

These people shouldnt be given any chance to scam people, this is the reason why the world doesnt want to get into our market because most of the people are taking advantages to each other, the mainstream media will always be negative to our community that is why we shouldnt be doing anything that can harm the reputation of cryptocurrencies.

That's very true, I agree with you. Crypto is indeed very profitable but full of enormous risks when we invest and when it is also we know that when we invest it all is a scam or fraud. Many are afraid to invest in fear of being cheated. Because there is no guarantee all back when we invest. This is a lesson for us when we want to invest in caution against fraud and other things.

If you just open that email and don't click/download any attachment then I cant see a reasons that you would be hacked out by someone. This is why we should really be careful on downloading things on pc, executable files will run if you don't have an antivirus that can detect those malwares. Private keys cant be hacked if you don't disclose it into public. Unless if you got phished then 100% you will be hacked.
that exactly what happened with me i thougt the email is to confirmed or somthing like that but It turned out to be the wrong  Undecided but i learned from my mistake
Then what happened after you click such link? As long you didn't input something or download then you didn't commit any mistake.

Some airdrops requires you to provide private keys and that's a clear scam because in the first place you should not give not key to anyone. Giving your email is ok but don't ever download anything from that site because you might really got scammed if you do better to be safe than to get some shit coin that don't have any value after all.
Even just on common sense you will able to identify if a thing is a pure scam or not. We do know that private keys is the most important information/access to our wallets and even creating our wallet in first place do have caution about on keeping it for yourself which means theres no reason that you haven't told or being reminded in relation with it.Keys is on your full responsibility don't give it to anybody no matter what.

It could happen, when they send you a link to a pishing site of myetherwallet. So don't follow the links, then they will have no chance to hack your wallet. There are many scamming devs, but also airdrops of awesome cryptocurrencies.

Private keys shouldnt be given to anyone, because it is the most imporant part of your investments if someone knew your keys you are good as dead, all of your funds might be transfered to his own wallet so that protect your keys as you are protecting your love ones, never give it to anyone because that thing can be the key to your success or failure.

Never join these airdrops that will require your private keys, normally wallet and email address would be the requirement for such airdrops. If someone ask you to put your private keys im sure 100% it is a scam because why would they need to get your private keys if thet arent going to steal your investments or coins.
