Aside from the principle, is there are quicker way to watch a thread on which I have posted already (but have not explicitly put on the watchlist), than to unwatch first, and then to watch again? Or is my logic completely wrong here?
go to PROFILE > Notifications and Email and click the link on the first option
and make sure it is checked to automatically watch a thread after your replying in it in the future
thanks to pugman Cheesy for providing screenshot below posted in another thread

Ah, yes. This is very useful. Thanks

However, still don't understand the logic behind the unwatch issue.

Ah?  Your post is a little bit confusing to me, if you want to know that someone reply to your post or on the thread you replies then just select the button on your forum setting and they will send link to your email, every after some one also reply on the post.

Check it for yourself:

1. Select any thread in the forum in which you have not posted before
2. On the thread page, top right, just under "<< previous topic next topic >>" you should see now "reply | watch | notify | mark unread | print"

If you wanted now to put this thread on your watch list, you can simply select watch

On the other hand:

1. Click on "Show new replied to your posts"
2. In the list of threads which are presented, click on any of them which you don't already have in your watch list
3. On the thread page, top right,  you should see now "reply | unwatch | notify | mark unread | print", despite the fact that you never added this thread to the watchlist

In other words, if you want to add this particular thread to the watchlist, you first would need to click on unwatch, refresh the page and then select watch to add to the watchlist.

It seems illogical to have to select unwatch if you never actually added the thread to your watchlist.

I understand the logic behind watching / un-watching threads and the difference between Watchlist and "Show New Replies to Your Posts". Basically, the latter shows all threads in which I ever posted and have new posts, the former include only those I selected to watch explicitly.

However, if I select a thread from the "Show new replies to your posts" list, which is not on the Watchlist yet, it does actually only provide to "unwatch" the thread but not to "watch" it (i.e. put it on the watchlist). This seems counter to intuition, as I would expect to only need to unwatch threads which I explicitly selected as being watched.

Aside from the principle, is there are quicker way to watch a thread on which I have posted already (but have not explicitly put on the watchlist), than to unwatch first, and then to watch again? Or is my logic completely wrong here?
