I just thought of something.  I live in Utah and it is starting to get pretty cool here, and will stay cool for the next 5 months or so.

1) Would it make sense to put a mining computer in an unheated area, like a garage?

2) I wonder how much less cooling could be used?

3) Would there be any issues with temps below freezxing? (20 degrees for example?)  I know that hard drives don't like to start up at those temps if they have been stored shut off, but they should be OK if already running when placed there.

4) I could just leave them inside, but the house doesn't always need heating and since we heat with solar and natural gas, electric heat is generally not used.

Thoughts?

As I heard you need to replace the HDD with either SSD or a flash drive. Also there could be some issues with a condensate (water condensate). From the other points of view there should be no cons.

Okay folks, I'm new here and need to get past the newbie restrictions.  I did a search and found nothing regarding watercooled ASIC miners, so I thought I might see if I could get something going on the topic.  I'm expecting a pair of Chilies to arrive this week and plan to mount cpu blocks on each to see what they can do.  Anyone attempt this yet?  Or for that matter, has anyone done a watercooling project with any of the "mainstream" ASICs?
I think someone was building waterblocks for the Team Avalon ASIC miners
