WAX was created to serve the existing virtual item ecosystem, which is currently worth $50 billion annually, and growing. Wax tokens can be staked to enable a person or entity to serve as a 'transfer agent' in this ecosystem. Transfer agents receive a portion of each virtual item transaction that they facilitate. Transfer agents ensure that trades are performed successfully by staking a certain amount of tokens, based on the dollar volume of the transactions they facilitate.
