Hey all-
New member here to the forum, but I thought I'd share my brief experiences.

I've tried faucets to earn a little bit here and there.  From what I've read, unless you have some serious capital to put in, mining is a waste of time.

I've also used btcjam.com to fund a couple of small (< $4) loans with reputable individuals.

To get started, I've used plazacoin.com, which is a proxy buying service.  You buy the item for an individual, communicate with them through their portal, and the BTC (which is held in escrow) is released once the purchase is confirmed.  They usually have $1-$2 donations to charitywater and wikipedia up at pretty good exchange rates.  I've donated ~$5, getting BTC almost immediately back.

Just thought it'd be a good way for someone to start out in BTC without having to worry about the high rates or wait times with some of the other larger sites.

They're just starting up, but just wanted to throw my input that I've used them without hassle.
