At one point, I'm pretty sure many said that altcoins will never last and light Bitcoin would be hailed as the true cryptocurrency. Today, we're here looking at over hundreds of altcoins holding their own in the market. Many of these were called out to be scams amounting to nothing, like XRP for the circulating supply, ETH for the genesis premine and so on but these haven't stopped them from reaching the top 5 in market cap.

I was curious to see what people had to say about coins that are now worth 100's of dollars and more in the wayback machine. I found it funny to see some people saying that XMR wouldn't amount to anything when it was going to cents!!
What would you say is similar in today's forum?
I was thinking RIPPLE, ADA, SC and maybe even VERGE.
Any ideas?

Early adopters win big in crypto. I agree with your RIPPLE, ADA, and SC. Not with Verge (XVG) because it seems to only be a McAfee pump coin that should eventually die out. If you ask me i'd also add in NEM/XEM. Its value is so low now but they are very active throughout cryptocurrency communities especially in Asia. Hopefully with these coins we one day we become the early adopters and win big.

Yes sir!! Another coin that is really early is AION. I really think it's going to be big soon

Ripple is a different beast all together. The amount of money being changed by the banks is in the trillions. I really think the amount of coins in circulation doesn't really effect the price in this case.
Well at least I hope!

The “Ethereum is a scam” thread from a year or two ago keeps getting bumped for some reason.  Cracks me up every time.  I have to agree that Ripple is a coin that gets dumped on the most here at this time.  They have a different business model.  I own some Ripple I bought at less and 20 cents, we will see how it goes.  I don’t expect it will ever “Moon” because of the enoumous supply, but it drift upwards.
