I agree with you that this can be a problem.
If someone tells me to register on a forum because I can make money, then I will probably ignore all the other benefits of that forum and just look for an opportunity to make money.
Most times it is not always as said above. I was actually introduced to this forum on the premise of making money. But when I actually arrived, I had a brief tour around the forum, it was when I understood that the forum was created by Satoshi himself. I saw something more than earning,  and that is learning. I started learning as much as possible, I became familiar with the rules and started enjoying the knowledge in this forum.
I didn't even bother to join a campaign even when I was a full member, it was someone that advised me to try wear signature and still be contributing in the forum and that was when applied in Hhampuz campaign and was accepted.

Obviously people will end up in Bitcointalk for multiple different reasons — and there's really nothing we can do to stop people joining Bitcointalk solely for joining campaigns.

As for the people who end up here to actually communicate and learn about stuff, it's not like they're totally required to learn about the merit system. Heck, they could just totally ignore it. And it's not like Bitcointalk's rules are very different from most communities(besides from the strict rules against plagiarism).

I don’t myself recall talking to others about the forum much per se. Most people in my close environment are not attracted to crypto, and I will certainly not engage in convincing them otherwise, if they are not clearly showing some interest beforehand. I have though recommended recently to someone reading the mining boards, after they showed a predisposition to get to know the matter in greater detail, but that’s about it.

Sure there are bound to be those that use the bounty angle when talking about the forum, and though the campaigns are substantially less than when the ICO explosion was around, and the earning likewise, like it or not, it’s probably one of those lateral perks that still has a ring to it (it’s even remarked during the first episode of the BitcoinTalkShow).

in order to reduce the cause of this problem we should introduce the forum or the platform as where knowledge is been passed and not telling them about the juicy benefits part of the forum.
I think the forum has created a YouTube channel where you can find a better definition about the forum. TheBitcoinTalkShow - 5 feb - Bitcointalk was hacked
YouTube is a favourite place for people, where if a channel is set up and content is supported, you will find many people correcting their ideas about making quick profits in this forum.
Overall, signature campaigns weren't as easy as in the past, so I don't think someone would look for 250 days and collect enough merit to make about $50 a week.

In fact, this should be understood as an additional benefit, and the primary purpose of the forum is to acquaint members with the latest developments in the crypto industry, explain technology, introduce new crypto projects etc.
In fact, no one can control the motivation of new members and the reason why they come to this forum. We can only help members who want to ask for advice and learn. Everyone chooses their own path on this forum.

What are you saying 😂? I searched about how to fix my GPU that restarts when mining on google search and I ended up on bitcointalk,

Yeah, many of us weren't introduced to the forum by other people. We arrived in here after searching on the Internet.

And even if we were introduced to the forum in a way that is not correct, we are old enough to read, research and make our own decisions.

I don't like the OP's argument on its negative side. It has a positive side of saying: if there are people who were introduced to the forum in a wrong way, let's correct this. But the negative part would be to take the blame away from those who come to the forum and cheat, plagiarize, etc... because it turns out that they were introduced to the forum incorrectly.

Forum is pretty well estbalished. No need to introduced forum on somewhere else cause Im sure they are getting any ideas of this all around the sources. If you mean promoting the forum on external outlets then theres really no need. We dont need some users whose only goal is to earn. We need members here that are hunger for knowledge and those interested to bootstrap their knowledge on bitcoin.

have gone through most of the topics here and many replies about how most newbies fight their way up and even beg in other to make merit and earn from the juicy benefits of this forum like signature campaign and so on forgetting the most important of the forum.

To my own knowledge and understanding I believe most of all this is cause by the introducers (the people who introduced the forum to them) because of the way and manner they used.

I believe that most newbies or beginner do not know about this forum and most of them have heard about it but does not know how it works, the usefulness of merits, activity and the earning part of this forum.( juicy benefits of the forum) and they are introduced or mentored by someone.so most of us here in the forum are the cause of this problem.

in order to reduce the cause of this problem we should introduce the forum or the platform as where knowledge is been passed and not telling them about the juicy benefits part of the forum.

 Thanks.
