The first part is lengthy, so I highlighted it in bold if you want to skip to the main question.

Previously, I made a post with links to public domain books I uploaded into CoinUploads, with the titles purposely omitted, and called it a "gambling business." You download a book for a fee, and see if it is a book you like. Link below.

The comments weren't favorable, and it doesn't seem that anyone downloaded the books.

"Take free books, I'm assuming it's books like Moby Dick, Lord of the Flies, Tale of Two Cities etc, then sell a random link?"

They're more obscure ones, I don't think I would upload a bunch of "hot and popular" books that everyone could easily find.

Is anyone willing to pay to discover books they never heard of? Perhaps a person gets an ebook they might never touch otherwise, but they read it anyway, and they find at least some entertainment value in it. Of course, since it's gambling, perhaps the person would still find the book boring and decide they "lost a bet."

People take works that have fallen out of copyright and sell them, like old movies, William Shakesphere's plays, and so on, so I thought it would be no harm if I did something similar. They might claim copyright to their versions of the works, but I think public domain allows you to do anything you want with it.

I didn't put up any books from any organizations that said their books are copyrighted, and I do not claim copyright to any of the books I put up.

So, what do you think? Is two dollars too expensive? Should I just reveal the titles of all the books?

Anyways, can you tell me of some good ways to earn passive income, even if I have to make my own works?
