Thanks for explaining, because I got confused with the two methods and even more after reading the reviews on google playstore about wazirx where some of the recent comment said the UPI deposit is unavailable/not supported at the moment.
After the Supreme court verdict they resumed instant deposit but after a while they discontinued for a while and looks like they resumed again and hence that might be the reason for the reviews in google playstore. Yes, I did a transaction of 100 INR using Google pay and it was instant. You can also use Amazon Pay and Paytm if you want. There is only one instant deposite option on the app using UPI. I do not see two options there. It is similar to the above image.
The above link is for the old method which only works for IMPS and NEFT. UPI apps like PhonePe and Google Pay also provide option to send payment with the Account No. and IFSC code. People confuse this option as equivalent to Bank Transfer. However, in reality you are still doing transfer over UPI protocol.
WazirX creates a unique bank account number for every user. Money transferred to that account only from the registered account number of the user will be identified instantly by the WazirX bot. That's why UPI payments are disallowed in the first option and transaction will be reversed if you try to do so.

playstore reviews are always incorrect few months back TIK TOK faced the wrath of negative reviews. Those reviews that you read on Playstore about WazirX UPI service were mostly created by rival exchange, If I am correct BitBns was accepting deposit from Phonepe before WazirX started their service. I personally made a transfer of INR 100 into WazirX to test their UPI and it got credited instantly without any issue.

The above link is only for NEFT, IMPS and RTGS so it will not work for UPI transactions.

Just received an email a few minutes back from WazirX, they are now providing instant UPI deposits through UPI. You can use Google Pay. PhonePe and other UPI apps to make the deposit. This service is available 24x7.
Instant deposit is also available via IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS.
Checked the app and this service is live there.
