I have some experience in copywriting, content creation, digital marketing, social medias, community management, ICO, blockchain, translation from English to French.

I am currently looking for a promising project I could invest my time and energy in. You probably need developers first but I think I woukd be a good adviser when it comes to marketing, community building and attracting investors or fill in any position where my skills fit in.

Do you have any interest in putting your content skills towards growing a forum and blog?  If you're looking for a promising project, I'd love to discuss with you to see if what I have is a good fit

Hi to all.

Implementation of passing KYC procedures for a client on the exchange.

Key issues encountered:

- The need to comply with AML and CFT procedures in accordance with the latest FATF requirements
- What jurisdiction to choose to operate our exchange?
- Is KYC policy required to apply to our customers?
- What is the maximum amount for operations in BTC to be set for a client without applying the KYC procedure?

At the moment, our plans are to set a limit of 1 BTC per day for the client without having to go through the KYC procedure.
Moreover, at the initial stage, fiat currencies will not be connected.

We are interested in your opinion, and if someone is faced with this problem, we will be happy to exchange experiences in this matter.

Hi all,

Since I have access to great developers and 18 years software development experience I've decided to jump into hot digital currency market to develop our own digital multicurrency wallet and trading platform.

Maybe this thread would be helpful for any start-ups who want to create the similar projects.

Here is a small list of features and marketing ideas.

Features for wallet:
- multicurrency wallet
- cloud based and mobile app wallet
- send/receive payments
- recurring tasks (pay, buy or sell cryptocurrency)
- trading tasks (sell/buy digital currency at price XXX)
- contactless payments via NFC, QR, ApplePay, AndroidPay (for mobile app)
- connected virtual card
- issue loans
- escrow payments
- insurance protection of wallet
- add notes to transactions
- connect bank account, your credit or debit card
- local exchange rates
- make two types of wallets (simple and advanced)

Features for trading platform:
- in one click from wallet Web interface become a trader
- cloud based and mobile app
- 2 factor authentication
- API
- margin trading
- margin funding
- advanced orders (limit, market, stop, trailig stop, fill/kill, oco, post only, hidden order, iceberg orders, TWAP)
- issuing your own tokens for trading
- live trades, live order book (ask, bid)
- show your trading history to others and collect funds for trading or invest in other traders(funds)
- customized charts

Ideas how to promote the project:
- referral system
- blog
- guest posts
- FB/AdWords Ads
- network of agents/representatives to promote service locally (e.g. like Uber does)

PS.: If you have any feature requests, can refer me to advisors/mentors or give valuable advices feel free to post them here or contact me directly

Hi to all.

Latest project news and what happened in the last year:

- The stage of registering the trading platform and resolving all legal issues has been completed - we stopped at a company in Seychelles
- The project main page updated (http://exchange2.net/)
- A test version of crypto exchange is ready, you can evaluate its interface and ease of use
- The final stage of the Secure Wallet project. This is a convenient multicurrency crypto wallet that can be integrated into your account on the trading platform

What will the next updates on the project bring:

- Launch of the “Secure Wallet” service in December 2019
- Launch of our trading platform in the first quarter of 2020
- Connection of fiat currencies both to the “Secure Wallet” service and to our trading platform
- Mobile versions of our services and more others

If you have any questions about the exchange or the development process - write here.

Now the main problem is to find currencies for the first listing on the exchange.

What cryptocurrencies do you recommend including in the first place?

P.S. while trading will be only crypto / crypto

Great advices!!!

Would you handle multiple fiat currencies into this exchange?

I'll start from crypto currencies, because it's the easiest part and then get into fiat currencies. I'm doing research about Estonia company, they have two licenses that easy to get. But I didn't contact Estonia lawyers yet.

In this time there needs to be an easier way for the crypto/fiat transition in order for crypto to be seen as currency by the masses and not just a commodity that the establishment is touting it as.

This project would go far into the adoption of such if it focused on that as well. I know that you and your team are focusing on the exchange portion atm to get up and running, and I wish you luck with that. I would suggest that if you focus on the contactless payment options for multi-fiat exchange as well and not just on crypto exchange you would go far.

You must have enough money to connect crypto and fiat worlds. I can't run contactless payments without fast exchange to fiat. So the first step is to make exchange, gain trust and get enough trading volume. Then i'll be able to build and promote fast payment with cryptocurrency. So right now my main focus is exchange and after that wallets and FAST contactless payments (no one wants to wait 10 mins untill BTC transaction complete).

Another observation would be to attempt divorcing some of the more older/stable ALTS from BTC to stand on their own. That has been something lacking in the space as well. I also believe that would help advance the idea of crypto as currency in its own right. I look forward to your project and to see where it goes. If you have any questions in particular PM me.

I still can't PM. I'm newbie on this forum. Can you post here list of old/stable ALTS that on your opinion should be 'divorced' from BTC?

IMHO as to the older/stable ALTS I would go with LTC/XMR/DASH/ETH for a start, eventually moving on to the other ALTS that aren't based on another coin/tokenized from another coin, i.e. erc-20 coins on the ETH chain. But that's just my opinion. It is your company, your call Smiley. If not PM me here you could email me. I agree with everything else you've put forward in response, starting from Estonia makes sense then moving on to the EU in general from there.

I like your idea, especially the idea of contactless payments. Would you handle multiple fiat currencies into this exchange? Is the idea more along the lines of taking on GDAX/Coinbase/Paypal? One of the things that is missing from the space is the ease of transfer both ways to/from fiat. Crypto is in a transition period currently in replacing fiat and will be for several years, if not decades, until mass adoption. In this time there needs to be an easier way for the crypto/fiat transition in order for crypto to be seen as currency by the masses and not just a commodity that the establishment is touting it as. Idea is good.
Why do you mix wallet and trading?
I think is two different things.
I think better decentral exchange nowadays.

It was my first idea, right now i've decided to focus only on exchange.

Ok, In any case I wish you good luck.

Just read trough entire thread. As a developer myself I can tell this was one of the best threads (well most fun for me at least...) I saw in quite some time. Really good job making all this information open for everyone that might need it in the future.

I'll share parts of the code. Maybe it will be helpful to someone too.

Anyways not sure what your current application structure is, but I'm a big fan of Go and NodeJS. Try the microservices approach, it will be worth it long term, trust me.

This is exactly what I do. Each part of the system is microservice.

Keep up the good work !

Thank you!

Have you seen Fcoin token?

I like the idea of sharing fee between community. So sharing 80% of all transaction fee revenue with community looks good idea for me.

That is a great idea of you. If you succeed to create the exchange then it will really be the best exchange of all the exchanges which are created for the cryptocurrencies. But I think you have to give importance to provide the USD market pair to each of the coin which you will add to the exchange it will give a new unique feature to the exchange as I not saw an exchange which give USD market for each coin and they rely on BTC for buying that coin.

How do you test your engine/exchange?

I wrote unit tests. Or you mean orders per second tests?

BTW: About JS charts i've moved to techan JS charts (based on D3 js) instead of highcharts.

Marketing ideas:

- I've asked at bitcointalk questions about contests and no fee exchange. I've got a negative feedback about no fee exchange so I'd better start from small fees. The most interesting thing is that people do not trust free exchanges.

- The only idea is an invitation. I'm going to ask about this idea at the forum. At the beginning users will be able to register only by invitations. For every invited person they will receive 40% from trading fee of the invited person.

- Ambassadors. I've seen at the Binance Angel program https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000483751--Calling-for-Binance-Angels. I want to do something similar. Ambassadors will help us in different public communities, provide the feedback about existing and new feature ideas, help to organize meetups. In exchange they will get token rewards, be invited at private meetups, got special limited gifts and rewards, get special invitations to events which we will make, will get access to Ambassador and our team private area to discuss new features, meetups, marketing ideas and etc.

ICO ideas:

- Kodak One has interesting ICO model - they offer tokens only for accredited investors and did a hype around Kodak (and it looks like they are not a part of Kodak and use their brand as franchise)

Project status:

- I have made a  prototype with a matching engine, price/volume chart, order the history, buy/sell price levels and buy/sell orders
- things are left to do:

    - add/withdraw funds (BTC/ETH/USDT/....)
    - the user area
    - the user registration
    - the 100% unit test coverage
    - the Ambassador member area (or start from FB group?)

But a pure software based matching engine can process like 6 Mio orders / seconds and nasdaq does it in hardware, which should be much faster?

Great! I'm sure that FPGA matching engine can process more than 6mil orders per second. I do not pretend to beat NASDAQ.  In 2008 year they could process up to 250 000 orders https://www.forbes.com/forbes/2009/0112/056.html#6c69fe877cc7

My old Mac can process 50 000 orders per second Smiley  I think even 50 000 orders per second is enough for real order matching engine server that sends and receives data from connected client servers. Am i right?

So instead of focusing and increasing useless numbers id better spend this time on finishing first MVP and focus on marketing.

Last 3 days i've all my free time on different JS charts and still havn't found any good solution. Maybe you can suggest me some good JavaScript charts? D3fc is buggy. Highcharts freezes if you update data every second. I'm testing techan js now maybe it will work well....

I think your nasdaq numbers are way too low...

Checkout info at this page
http://business.nasdaq.com/market-tech/marketplaces/trading

Their matching engine can process 100 000 orders per second.

Quote
Able to consistently sustain an order rate of over 100,000 orders per second at sub-40 microsecond average latency

Without any connections its easy to have more than 2 million orders processed per second on one server. The bottleneck here is send/receive data from server to server.

>please explain about what was your comment?
lol that can be done with few lines of shell code using a vps huge project

Please explain about what was your comment?

I did huge research about JS charts. Looks like the most interesting charts are using d3js framework (http://d3js.org)

Two JavaScript charts that i liked:
- http://techanjs.org/ charts that based on d3js (on the main page is exact chart that i want to integrate into my project) and highcharts.com charts.

I've decided do not spend a lot of time and stopped at highcharts JavaScript charts for now.

First project release. What i have now:
- I have now fast matching engine. That can process 320 000+ orders per second. I've added one more stats server and exchange data between them with ZMQ protocol. But after adding messaging system order processing dropped to approx 50 000 orders per second. Matching engine is written in Golang and i can optimize it to become faster but do i need that now? (BTW NASDAQ engine process 90 000 orders per second)
- I've made first interface with trading history and run test with 50 000 trades per second for several hours to see if everything works well. I've added limit orders stats and JS chart with current price updated every second and realized that my web browser can't receive 50 000 messages per second through WebSockets protocol it just hangups... Smiley

ICO plans:
- looks like easy ICO time already gone...  because it will cost like $500k to launch your own ICO marketing campaign. I had a conversation with one guy from dmarket.io and he shared insights from their ICO campaign. Big team huge budget for media buying. I can afford such amount of money to launch successful ICO campaign. He says that if you don't have $500k - $1000 000 for media buying and paying to advisors you can't launch suceesfull ICO
- scheduled StartEngine.com Call on monday (4th of June). To listen what they can offer to me.
- I did lots of research and looks like SEC think that all ICO tokens are securities and if i plan to make ICO i have to register my token as security Sad
- Nice article  why SAFT is dead and after readin this article i've decided to contact StarEngine https://www.crowdfundinsider.com/2018/03/131044-initial-coin-offerings-why-the-saft-is-dead/
- What if I just do ICO promotion at sites to see what i can get (traffic) and for SEO purposes and limit in USA it only for limited amount of accredited investors?

Marketing:
- interesting article-experience about marketing at bitcointalk.com https://hackernoon.com/marketing-on-bitcoin-talk-what-can-go-wrong-d6d5bd6c6174
- I did a post at bitcointak to see is there any no fee cryptoexchanges and got feedback that fees are the main income for cryptoexchanges and no fee cryptoexchanges are scam...looks like fees are not very important factor when you choose crypto exchange
- TraderView got 37M funding for their project form investors. They have interesting community idea based on chart tool they've created, I think i should implement trading community idea into my exchange project too.
- I've mentioned before that i'm doing research about making network of exchanges that connected into one exchange platform in partnership with other people and i've got interesting feedback form this idea.  So now i have two ideas:
     1. Build no fee exchange and offer premium services for some extra fee, but my main problem here is TRUST and marketing.
     2. Build network of exchanges in partnership with other people that will be connected into one platform - this way on my opinion is easier for me but i still continue doing research here.

Several notes about security:
- While coding service to manage websocket connections for the exchange project i've got some ideas how to protect sensitive servers:
  1. Make connections from secure server to "proxy" server. Simply saying if you have sensitive data on the server it connects to server that interacts with visitors. By using this method you add one more level of inside protection. If your 1st level server was hacked hackers will not get access to the sensitive information because they will not be able to connect to it at all (no open ports).

  2. Write simple protocol between servers. And check the message sizes. Simply saying message type A size can't be more than XXX and less than X if something goes wrong show ALERT about intrusion into the system and disconnect form the 1st level server.

 3. Fill all space on the 1st level servers and leave space only in several places. So it will not be possible to write on the server without deleting files. Change generic apps on the server to fake one so if someone try to use them immediate ALERT about intrusion.  Changes in files - ALERT to about intrusion.

 4. Wallets  will be separate servers that can't be accessed from outside. They will connect to data routing servers, get transaction information from them check total transaction stats if it differs from usual daily transaction pattern they will immediately disconnect and ALERT about intrusion.

Some tech data:
  - How to handle 3 millions of websocket connections using Go:
   https://medium.freecodecamp.org/million-websockets-and-go-cc58418460bb

Marketing/Business model ideas:
My project will work in similar to POF (Plenty Of Fish) way.  I remember when its former owner posted message at forums.digitalpoint.com  about $20k/month revenue. So main idea is a free service for all + advertising fee and premium service.
You can read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlentyOfFish

How can ideas form it be used in Exchange2.net service?
- no fees for transactions
- set withdrawal fees yourself
- use SEO to get traffic

Premium services will be around:
- order matching priority (i was inspired by this article https://www.cmegroup.com/confluence/display/EPICSANDBOX/Matching+Algorithms there is a top priority for some type of members in order matching process)
- collective trading (simply saying you set to repeat what does some best public traders)
- listing new cryptocurrency

and there will be 3 ad blocks in the top of page that anyone can buy for tokens.  1st will be served ads with highest cost per impression/click.

Tokens:

Tokens could be used to pay for premium services, ads, voting or trade on exchange.

Ambassadors:
i want to try is "invitation only" access in the beginning.  I'll create network of ambassadors that will invite people and do promotion of the project. For every invited person that fund account and start trading they will receive tokens.

What do you think about these ideas? Have some suggestions?

Just finished testing matching engine written in Golang.
I’ve got 320k orders processed at my MacBook Air 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5

NASDAQ is handling up to 100k orders per second
http://business.nasdaq.com/market-tech/marketplaces/trading

There are extra features to add to the order matching engine(like notifications, transactions log, market depth) but this speed will be enough to process orders.

BTW if you check this article you’ll see that NASDAQ used 15 years old matching engine written in FoxPro in 2011 year:
http://www.josh.com/notes/island-ecn-10th-birthday/

About marketing:
Before I start hard work on marketing I need to have a product that has minimal features.

My plan for the next 3 months is:
1. Build product with minimal features
2. Find potential users before the launch of the project

The first goal in marketing is to make people fund their accounts before the launch of the project.

I need to get several big partnerships that will drive traffic to the project for 50% from referred client revenue. But what extra value to offer them in exchange except revenue sharing...

In my opinion, all this is not enough to become the largest exchange. I think you need at least a few million dollars just for advertising and few million dollars to attract market makers. And still I do not think that this will allow you to enter the top-5 exchanges.

One more thing that we will do is launch a public journey about our start-up.  Just registered a domain exchange2.net for this project and created a draft of the first matching engine in GoLang.

Positioning ideas:
- the most secure cryptoexchange
- 2nd biggest cryptoexchange in the world

We did research through semrush about advertising strategies of different cryptoexchanges and it looks like the best strategy for small startup is:
- SEO
- run affiliate campaign
- submit press releases
- publish partnership news
- and blog
- contests

And i think that main strategy here is to list a lot good commodities on exchange

My best regards,

Don't forget to use social platforms. I honestly think you can't avoid it. You may find influencers on Twitter, as well using Facebook, Youtube, Quora etc. At least Twitter and Youtube is a must

We are still doing research on this subject and making interfaces.

Some ideas that may be interesting for other similar projects:

Marketing:
- 30% commission from fees of invited client or maybe up to 70% in the beginning as reward to the most active affiliates
- Find infuencers ot FaceBook, Twitter and forums
- translate on different languares
- different typ of contests
- top traders with max margin
- blog posts with interesting stats

Monetisation/Revenue model:
- trading fee 0.04%-0.1%
- widrawal fee
- listing fee
- other income like promo fees or cross sales

Order matching engine:
While doing research i've found interesting articles about order matching engines and open source projects for limit order book here some of them.

WK Selph's Blogpost:
- https://[Suspicious link removed]/KF1SRm  - How to build a fast limit order book

Nice implementation on C++:
2 000 000 - 2 500 000 orders per second

The Buttercoin  crypto exchange source code. But it's written on Scala...

Port of winning www.quantcup.org competition entry (implementing a fast stock exchange matching engine for an HFT bot) from C to Go
https://github.com/rdingwall/go-quantcup

Nice thread at stackoverflow aboput matching engines https://quant.stackexchange.com/questions/3783/what-is-an-efficient-data-structure-to-model-order-book

Wow very impressive! 16 million orders per second
https://github.com/charles-cooper/itch-order-book

Technologies  will use for the crypto exchange:
 - programming languages: JavaScript, PHP, C/C++, GoLang
 - databases Redis  and  MySQL/PostgreSQL

In the beginning use Golang for the trade engine and then rewrite it to C/C++

Test engine on old trading records.

Security standarts.
This is the most important part that many stock exchange forget about.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_27001

CryptoCurrency Security Standard
https://cryptoconsortium.github.io/CCSS/

Make several level of security.
1st Level that interacts with visitors
at this level data from client will be passed to 2nd level middle/proxy servers. No direct access to trading engine from this servers.
They just filter data show nice looking interfaces and prepare data for the 2nd level servers
This servers will be replaced every 3 days with with clear new servers and checked for intrusions.

2nd level
Check the data and route it to the 3rd level servers.
At this level data will be checked for intrusions and filtered. The main goal of this layer is to alert intrusions.
This servers will be replaced every 3 days with with clear new servers and checked for intrusions.

3rd level
The most impotant servers. Access to this servers is only from private network. No connection from the world.

Simply saying split all system to small parts and monitor every activity + update and refresh the system to protect from intrusions

Few more things:
- Disable tracert and ping requests on all servers.
- Close all ports. Monitor connections, transferred data to the servers and report suspect connections.
- Add "honeypots" to the servers

Monitor suspect transactions.
- e.g. mass funds withdrawal or transfer to one account. Unusual funds transfer activities. Untill funds are inside of engine we can automatically stop suspect transactions.
- additional authentification if transaction goes in unusual way (different IP address, different browser, no cookie and etc). Collect information about usual client routes.
- duplicate all withdrawal transactions
- minfy and obfuscate all code that will be on real servers
- store funds on several wallets to split the risks

A good exchange can't be successful without a good promotion since there are so many competitors out there. What I am trying to point out is that your marketing must have a good strategy in order to attract new costumer. The point is underline the best feature of your service and the difference between your service and another popular exchange I mean why do people should join your exchange while people feel good enough using their favorite exchange right now.

The name of this topic makes me curious, which is why I'm here.
I'm a relatively new person in the crypt, a little late came just before the hayas in the first half of December 2017 or in November, I do not remember exactly. But I already had time to try and study something. Now I'm trying to find a good bounty, I realized that in this topic you can also not bad enough to earn. Here is one in my opinion a very promising project is TokenGo. There, their office is a great choice and they pay well. You select the task, you immediately specify the price you make the application if satisfied and calculated immediately after the task is completed. In general I without straining for a couple of days 120 $ earned. See below in my signature link to this platform. There's a lot more that I can advise you to study the project.

On the basis of this platform, you could also hold the Ico. They have a wonderful team and these people want to bring innovations to our world that would make life easier for all of us as a whole. I think that behind such platforms, especially if their creation is a bright, hard-working, purposeful, correctly chosen team, a great future. Follow the link below and then you will be able to learn more about all the advantages of this wonderful platform and maybe even run your project with it. Good luck! #TokenGo #ICO #Crypto

And here we have a visual part of our project:

We need your feedback about it. Are we handle with making this product comfortable to use? Or what kind of features would you like to see in MCW?

Wallet and Trading at the same time, a little bit much for a standard user.
If you want, you can standardize trading like coinbase does. Then make the "Advanced" trading activatabe in the settings or another Advanced app similar to the Regular version if it will be an app.

I thought about that in a similar way.

Create two apps (simple wallet  and advanced trading app).

And in the web version make button in the top "turn-on trading mode or something similar"

Two more ideas:
- make something like "trading/investment funds" that people can create by issuing tokens
- show public history of trades (if someone would like to see the results of the trader)

Bitcoins current exchange rate into local currency if used internationally so that wherever you may go, you can use it internationally.   This way, the acceptance of bitcoins in the market will not be hindered of any sort.  Also, sending and payments of bills should also be considered so that the ease of not going to banks or payment centers will be exercise.

Great idea about local exchange.

Can you explain more about. Show some example:

Also, sending and payments of bills should also be considered so that the ease of not going to banks or payment centers will be exercise.

I have already in-house team of developers and marketing (FB, Google, Content Marketing). But would be very thankful for help with community building and attracting investors.

In mid of January i'll start to post here the first prototypes.
