I once heard of a term that means using language like this to say something while avoiding giving a source. When I learned about this, I learned it was a bad thing to do.

I think that term was called "weasel words".

Let me think... where did I learn about "weasel words" and why they are bad.

Oh yeah, that's right. I learned about this on Wikipedia! It's a Wikipedia policy, shorthanded as WP:WEASEL, but detailed at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:WEASEL .

They then go on to explain that this is not actually what they mean, and that they may consider accepting Bitcoin in the future, presumably once their lawyers/accountants figure out the relevant legal requirements. The thread title is quoting them as saying the exact opposite of what they actually said. Angry
