Best case scenario, we would be able to use a physical authentication device, but google authenticator would be a good solution too. I'd even take email or SMS 2FA over nothing. Those aren't ideal solutions though.

I'd suggest using bitcoin addresses as the 2FA to sign a trnasaction from them (when using an unfamiliter IP with the forum that doesn't already have a cookie associated to it and that user). That would really help with the issue and would be quite easy to do as there are a lot of open source codebases out there that can be used...

This topic has been discussed for a long time and I fully agree with you that two-factor authentication is required on this forum.
In connection with the theft of accounts and selling them on the forum, there is a big problem with security. Every day I meet topics of discussion where people say they can't get their stolen account back.
I very much hope that soon the admins will implement this task as a priority.

I agree with this. I see no reason not to use 2FA.

I created some topic like this few time ago, and many people said the our security is enough here with the LOCK ACCOUNT option.

But i disagree.

This is a huge attack vector. Our accounts are valuable, and we need, from time to time, login again in another device... many people have different habits, such as travels, use in different devices.... some accounts will be hacked, it's inevitable.

2FA would be a very nice addition to our security.

Bitcointalk is a lot more than just a forum where people hang out and talk about a common interest. We're hyper paranoid tech freaks that trust no one, because we don't have to anymore. I don't always trust the machine that I'm on for whatever reason, so I have 2FA on everything that offers it. If the product or service doesn't offer 2FA I look for an alternative. Please, I'm begging you, don't make me go to Reddit.

I know the new forum is coming soon™ but we need this yesterday. The only other short-term solution is to never log into my bitcointalk account or only use a secondary account. It's far less than ideal.

Best case scenario, we would be able to use a physical authentication device, but google authenticator would be a good solution too. I'd even take email or SMS 2FA over nothing. Those aren't ideal solutions though.

Please add 2FA. There's no downside other than the time it would take to implement it. Please.
