I'd say it's more what we the people decide it is worth.  Same way we the people decide what gold is worth of silver or other commodities.  You have to be careful with how you define bitcoin.

I wouldn't define the value of crypto as being the people. It is more that the value is defined by the people. Who; How; and Where Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) is used is where the power lies. And that's even to say on a much broader functional level than a mere currency.
