OP, are you trying to portray a dystopian society, where the rich live in luxurious fortresses, while the poor live in huge ghettos.
Maybe this will happen after several decades, but I definitely don't believe that such thing would happen in the next 5-10 years.
For a dystopian era to come, the world would need to suffer through very drastic changes. Economy would crash first and our climate problems will be beyond repairable. If we run out of natural resources, this could also lead to the dystopian era. This will lead to more people running wild and the government enforcing authoritarianism to control their citizens. You are right that it may not happen in the next few years but if we do not act properly now it might not be too far from happening.

Illegal immigration is the main factor, that causes increased number of criminal activities and more people living in ghettos.
I think there is a lot more factors that play in increased criminal activities and homelessness. We need to look at the overall state of the country and see how an average citizen is performing. In my country, there are many homeless people but they are not immigrants. They are just poor victims of poverty.

Hiring more people in the law enforcement doesn't solve the problem. Higher levels of crime would require more prisons and a more effective judicial system. Who is going to pay for all this? The rich people would most likely leave the countries and move to offshore "tax heavens".

It'd only get bigger though? That's why the rich are able to become rich, because they take advantage of being one. If rich people were just mindless noobs that have a lot of money then yeah there's a huge possibility that wealth could cycle through and poor people in this generation can turn their next generation to be rich, but no. They know how to use money to make money and I don't think any type of ruling or law could actually stop that.

It'd probably be far better to improve the bottom instead of making those at the top go down. The former sounds a lot more achievable than the latter.

I'm not rich, but if we're born rich, we will do the same like the current rich people do to the poor or you choose to do nothing. If you choose to fight against them, they will find any way to kick you, they don't want someone to ruin the system.

Even we will not able to become rich, but we can at least life more comfortable than before if people always keep trying and improve.

I do feel like technology will change alot, not just about wealthy purchases but the basics like tech enables distance working etc. so location is less important and I love that because commuting is an awful daily task and waste of time, effort, energy also pollution.  The world will become more efficenct and people also too will benefit imo be optimistic.
You think it's a benefit, instead the company will use this chance to make you working 24/7 because there's no excuse anymore to reject their help. Tongue

Freelance exist since a decade ago, but it's still not able to change a country with $200/month salary become $2000/month.

The main reason to do so is that that world overall benefits from enabling all those who are capable and able to be productive, look at technology and that can be almost anyone now with a good idea.
Being productive is only free but being capable of something might require some amounts.

Even if we implement 100 policies the wealth gap will still continue to go bigger and bigger as with time. Let's see the richest people in the world, they are getting rich day by day and wealth gap between them and others is way difference than some of us can even imagine.

If we take some top Billionaires then there wealth is so high in value that some of them can create new countries that would be higher in wealth of the many existing countries and there's chance that the next step for those Billionaires might be to create their own countries or cities.
I actually think it can be prevented and it only takes one policy. Of course that policy would be for the already wealthy people to have a limit of how much they now gain. Rich individuals are still a human like us. They are not perfect that they also make mistakes or have a down times.

It is just that they already built something like investment for example that earns them profit after some time, so they still can replenish those lost amounts. No matter how rich they are, they can't just create another country these days. Some small islands would still be possible though. This and having lots of properties (not only limited to real estates) can be enough already for them to get recognized as a rich person.

As of now yeah, there is no such policy implemented and we are not sure if there will ever be one because it's been a long time since we are like this. I don't really know if this was a serious issue or maybe not because many of us are still surviving and work their way up. Guess it is really on our heads and we are only lacking of action, luck, etc... in order for us to achieve our dreams.

Even if we look at nationwide then still the wealth gap is quite higher between rich class and the less privileged poor class or middle class. The wealth gap between them will continue that way and there's no such working policy that can somehow reduce that gap.

Wealth gap should not be bigger, we should be advancing as a world away from the power given to those who were born rich etc.    The main reason to do so is that that world overall benefits from enabling all those who are capable and able to be productive, look at technology and that can be almost anyone now with a good idea.

I suggest looking forward towards future possiblities never as easily true as they will be in five or ten years.   I agree on this commentary for the last decades, last century even its been continually unfair and unbalanced cursing some to leave their countries unable to be productive and so wealthy.   Its part of whats created a global refugee crisis along with instability from wars and other failures.  People feel as if they cannot suceed without being in a western country when the oppisite should be true and the greatest growth is development not enhancement of already rich countries.

Increased security and surveillance might protect wealthier communities, but it also risks further alienating those who feel left behind. Rather than focusing solely on enforcement, perhaps it's worth considering how we can better address systemic issues such as access to education, fair wages, and economic opportunities so that people don’t feel forced into a position where they’re left to struggle.

It's easy to feel hopeless when looking at the rise of greed and ambition around us, but change is possible when people work together, not just to protect what they have, but to create more opportunities for others. Wealth and inequality needs to evolve beyond just policing to one of broader social reforms.

I am more on this rather than giving more protection to few privileged individuals. If the government will promote more on educating its constituents and providing better jobs, they don't need high numbers in the police force. Some people are into illegal activities because they are deprived of some of the basic needs, thus, resorting to fraudulent activities.

Lack of police is not what widens the Wealth gap.  They will definitely be more necessary, but I do not even know if they would have the necessary power in case the Wealth gap widens so much.  It would rather be the Army instead, considering the Society would be split between exceedingly Rich and starving Poor.

What widens the gap so much is how every thing has been handled for the past many years or even decades.  Every thing is focused on us spending a lot of Money on shit quality while the Rich are earning it all and giving zero fucks about us.  Nobody owns their own home any more, or a piece of land to grow a crop on.  Even crops are so much harder to grow nowadays due to how seeds are and how many pests and infections there are.  Food is expensive et cetera.  The ordinary daily stuff is what widens the gap further and further every single day.  And I think we are in a point of no return.  I really do not think there is much that can be done any more, it is something that will definitely happen.

And trump comes wealth gap definately will go bigger all over the world trump politics is not about social service but it's about ambitious money fame and glamour gold and glitters life style.
But bigger wealth Gap will increase need for more police definately some people realise that even they work hard they fall lower by economically.
Many people don't want to belive that but truly things moving towards the way that even If you are educated person will be like poor not rich because wealth gap gettk g bigger and bigger.

I guess gated communites are future where rich live in gated community with high security and poor ones living areas where chaos and anarchy some kind of existing.
So we got 2 group of people and they have definately different life and for example you are teacher in School you might be on the poor group not the rich coz rich level going higher and higher.

Off course wealth is good and everybody want to be wealthy and live good life but while we have some people have wealth more they could spend and others who is not lazy and not uneducated and they still struggle while forbes shows how some rich tycoon spends large money for some nonsense then it will make the people as whole society more divided.
Soon people realise they not even wealthy If they got like 200k of USD in their bank account because the level of wealth what show's you really have wealth will go higher and higher.

If i would be rich and i know that nothing can be done really to change the world how it moves then i would support more stronger police and off course more rights to police untfortunately this kind of regime will not keep us far away from dictatorship rule system off course i don't want but what can i do If i see things going naturally this way and society as more GREEDY makes me also more greedy and everybody Will be more greedy and want more and more because everybody else will be more greedy so then the weakest links will be the ones with less of resources not even about education so much but resources how to stay strong in this RACE of extreme greed

Those people might feel like they are left over who not so ambitious or doing anything for money to be greedy and brutal some people just not like that by nature and even If they have education they might stay behind others.

And then it comes the police well mostly police will be for poor people to keep them on check.

Gated communities are the future? Nope, they've existed for centuries and are probably going to grow at the same rate. The super rich are not that concerned with law and order, because they'll have private security teams and maybe even help to fund the local police force for their benefit. There are even whole towns or sections of the country where this is happening, but it is kept very discrete because they don't like to draw attention and scandals tend to get lots of viewers. The wealth gap has been growing for decades now, regardless of the President, and even if Kamala had one - she would not really have made a dent or been able to change the course of this consolidation of wealth in a meaningful way.

If the wealth gap broadens so much, the police will not be immune from the hardship that may arise, some police members will turn on those that they are supposed to keep secure, or even abandon them.

If the wealth gap broadened further, there will be a lot of security challenges, and rather than trying to trust the police for your security alone, it will be wise for you to take personal charge of it by investing in personnel security equipment and maybe a few guard dogs.
The polices are humans and also needs to survive if a government's policies create wealth gap and the question has been " who bear the burden of these policies "? It has always been the less income earners which majority of polices officers fall in.

I believe Trump is a very high intelligence man! He might increases the minimum wage and expand the earned income tax credit as a solution to addressing increases wealth gap that the Economic is pointing towards. However,  my views are subject to if is able to win the election.

The economic gap is indeed getting wider and Inflation has squeezed the wealth of younger generations, for one, who hold less wealth compared to older groups. However, the increase in wages in certain industries and low unemployment rates in most areas have managed to stabilize or even improve the finances of some families since the pandemic. It also raises the problem wherein OP argues a greater wealth disparity creates more policing, yet greater equality does not really equate to less policing. In actuality, preventing crimes often entails broader social programs and more economic opportunities rather than relying on policing. Besides, one should remember that not all wealth is due to greed, many high-income earners reinvest much of their incomes into businesses, which may spur job creation and community programs. What that may mean is a focus on policy changes that create equal opportunities, good pay for an income level that can sustain everyone rather than having to transition toward and depend on an increasingly police-state-like society.

The police are more in the title than what there really are without them putting on the uniforms.. when the country becomes hard they are meant to serve as they took an oath to serve the land.. it's why most time you see these people embarking on some take that we know even though it's not on their mind to do so, so long they have received an order for a higher authority then there's nothing stoping them. The wealth gap will only create more issues in the economy. Even if the olive has families to feed and these people are also members of the public...
