You could try with WebCL-based miners, but at current difficulty it could only be profitable if you have a botnet or lots of visitors on your website(s) (they must also be using browsers that have WebCL support, and AFAIK currently no browser natively supports it).

Is it really work? Have your try it?
I would not be surprised if it "works" as in uses your browser to mine bitcoin. The problem is that the expected value of the coins you would mine would be much less then what you would pay in electricity

I'm not sure if this answers the original question or not, lol. But BitMinter has a java miner that works with lots of different gear. I haven't used it myself since the days of USB miners so I'm not sure how current it is now.

I am mining with www.genesis-mining.com.  You may also try with them. They are offering lowest rate 0.14usd per kh/s.

These feeble web based mining attempts peaked in 2011 and then died off back then.  Every once in a while somebody will get a light bulb only to be shot down  Grin

Basically it's not worth the hassle.

is there a way to mine without installing any software but browser? I've seem some coin require firefox plugin but that I can't risk as well. Any idea?

I would not do this if I were you. CPU and GPU mining has long been unprofitable, for close to a year now.

If you wish you "mine" from your browser I would recommend cloud mining (although I feel that this is not a profitable investment)

why.?
mining whether it would be futile because the difficulty will continue to increase

I've seen something like based on OpenGL if I'm not mistaken, just keep the browser opened and you are mining.

Also, I've used this long time ago, but it was CPU mining if I'm not mistaken.

Avoid that, its pointless anyways. For mining you need rigs, but judging by diff. and price, its better for you to just buy bitcoins

Web based mining is just a suckers game to essentially get people to mine for the website (noone would ever reach a level of earning that would qualify them for a payout)

Looks ince, but it only allows you to mine using their site, you can't set the stand alone instance Smiley

Yup, you're right, yours was faster, but requires Firefox and installed additional plugin. I found also an implementation using JS, WebWorkers and WebGL - http://bitcoin.biniok.net/gl.php

The ones I linked use GPU(s) to mine, JS miners are two orders of magnitude slower because they will only mine using your CPU.
