I doubt anonymity is a major concern for most people in buying groceries with crypto.  Particularly if you`re having them delivered - it`s unlikely you`re going to want to do a dead-drop at someone else`s house for milk, eggs and bread.  If you want to remain anonymous, or to obscure the identity of the owner of a particular BTC address, you can as easily sell BTC to a stranger in person and then spend that cash for groceries.

The big issue for me is in being able to spend BTC *directly* on virtually any of the things that I buy daily.  I nearly pissed my pants with glee when I bought a coffee yesterday with a $5 Starbucks card I purchased from Welsh, but we do still have a bit of a last-mile problem here.

Even if it`s through a third-party service like BitInstant, BitPay etc. the ability to commonly buy staple food items with Bitcoins will constitute a reason to care about BTC for people like my parents and most of my friends back home (in a pretty rural area).

I have an idea for this, but the problem i am running into is that this cannot be globalized.
All i can do is get a few local producers to accept a crypto as form of payment and arrange the shipping or door delivery to the client.
However, this would destroy the anonymity part completely Smiley

it will come. we need to be patient.

Hello, I'm wondering if there is a website for buying groceries with bitcoin?

I see a lot of sites selling electronics and other stuff... what about food?
