"Scientists from the Canadian University of Lethbridge suggest that marijuana is a good prevention of coronavirus, and not only. My brother uses marijuana for medicinal, but for full legitimacy, he is signing up for a Kif Doctors card to buy it legally.  During the study, which examined sativa varieties rich in cannabinol (CBD), it was found that cannabis prevents the penetration of COVID-19 into the cells of the body.
Extracts with a high content of CBD — the main non-psychoactive ingredient — reduced the number of receptors that the coronavirus uses to attack cells by about 70%."

I'm thinking about the fact that it's better not to smoke anything during a pandemic. Because you have to take care of yourself. I don't even go outside without a mask. I bought myself an N95 mask and now I wear it in public places all the time. I'm worried about my lungs too, since I've smoked a lot in the past. I don't want to get sick and put my loved ones in danger.

I think smoking weed can have many negative consequences. During the Covid pandemic I was offered some but there’s a reason it’s still illegal all over the world. My concerns with using any substance like weed is what’s the cost/ benefit breakdown?
For me, my goals of reaching financial independence and starting a business are a much higher priority than the short term pleasure derived from using it. I understand the argument many people give when they say they don’t see any negative consequences but in my opinion many of them are in a bit of denial. On the other hand, I don’t judge anyone who uses it because it’s everyone’s right to choose their goals and rank their priorities.

Seriously, during this pandemic I've been offered weed 3 times. 1. Blunt with like a bunch of people 5 maybe, all taking hits, Medical marijuana in from a vape like thing, and another blunt between 3.

I'm not going to clarify whether I partook in the devil's letttuce, but I wonder, have any of you had the same experience?

Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm talking about strangers offering that, people that I just met in the great outdoors on separate occasions.

In my village its very easy to smoke weed, almost everyone that i know is smoking Grin Grin

From strangers no.. even if some stranger offer me a hit I will not take the joint.. It can be a cop or some guy with hepatitis or something..

The cop angle is interesting. They can lie but since they can't break laws like that it wouldn't be viable to potentially spread covid to try and catch smokers.
I wonder what that means for cops trying to entrap johns in prostitution cases. I've never been a john, or a prostitute but weirdly enough I have been solicited by both (I'm a guy).
You can tell in most cases whether it's cops or not. I don't think they'd bother doing that.

but from friends yes there was 3/4 times this year. I trust them, they trust me and if somebody have a little flue he is not included in the circle Cheesy
Your friend could be asymptomatic so you're risking death even if they have no symptoms. It's your risk to take, but if you end up barely able to breath you'll certainly regret it. I haven't followed every precaution either and my work environment leaves a lot to be desired.

Edit: My current post number is 1420

I'll offer an update, I did get offered weed a few more times since. One was a pretty woman and.... I'm not saying I accepted.

How can be a strangers ask you to partake in Marijuana when this is one of the most illegal Drugs in my country ?
Sorry to hear that. I take it you are in Asia? I know several countries in that region of the world are exceedingly harsh on it. Considering that it was the US that created the anti-cannabis mania back in the 1930's and pretty much convinced other countries to follow their lead, hopefully with the US now slowly removing laws against it more countries will again follow the example and remove their often draconian punishments that users can face.

To those who call cannabis "the devils weed", I do hope you feel the same about alcohol... At least cannabis has far less deleterious effects - the worse that happens when over-indulging is that you go to sleep which beats the heck out of puking & getting a hangover from alcohol Wink

I've been a cannabis smoker since the 1970's with zero ill effects and many years ago got my medical card as soon as Michigan allowed them. Yes I have a valid condition (permanent neurological pain due to nerve damage caused by Shingles) and cannabis certainly reduces the random sharp pain it causes.

2 years ago Michigan fully legalized recreational cannabis use because its effects are no worse than drinking beer or wine - just follow same common sense rules: Don't drive, don't juggle chainsaws, etc. under the influence of any of them.

Now given the COVID situation, would I share a joint or pipe with a stranger or even close friends? HELL NO! Just divvy it up and each person partakes on their own.

Before the pandemic, smoking pot from one joint was normal for me. But in the midst of the pandemic, I thought about quitting smoking altogether, but this is quite problematic for me. The problem was solved when I decided to buy myself a glass dab rig . Only I do not allow anyone to use and except myself. Even if we are in a company of 3-4 people, I try to avoid smoking through my bong. Sometimes it leads to awkward situations, but the pandemic forces me to do it. I hope to go back to the days when we passed one joint.

People probably just have to much free time at the moment. I wouldn't smoke anything at the moment, not cigarettes or weed. Corona is very bad if your lung is already infected before. And there can be serious long term effects for your lungs. Better to stay healthy in these pandemic times.

sadly i have no Outdoor occasion since the Pandemic happens,We only celebrate some special occasions inside our houses,We only sends Foods or gifts to the celebrants but never come to celebrate with them for our all safeties.
So Maybe when things are all clear there will be an offer.
But i will surely deny mate because i felt like very lazy and sleepy using weeds,i have tried when i was still in school and the effect is really bad for me.

I believe that the person really like you because he wants you to smoke and forget your sorrows concerning the challenges that corona virus  contribute to the society. A situation were by the person offered weed to you and your are not a smoke try to distance yourself  from the person or totally isolate the individual because it will makes you to adventure into smoking without knowing the health implications.

It's an odd experience during this pandemic. There will be offers and temptations like this especially if everybody is staying at home and get bored with doing anything.

Much better to avoid with any dealings from strangers and mostly with things like this.

We're not allowed to go out so this didn't happened to me.

Its completely normal especially when there are events like concerts. I have been to a gathering where bands are performing for an audition, I just watch from a distance but band members are just going to go near the people watching and offer a lighted joint for anyone wants to take it. You jst have to say no if you don't like it.
Weed makes you want to eat a lot but I think its varies to different people.

Maybe you just have to find other places to go outdoors!
It is not normal at my place to see people offering weed on strangers.
How have this happened to you almost 3 times?

Well, I don't wanna give away where I go to, but basically think beautiful state parks. If I say any more I'll potentially de-anonymize my account even further than it already is.

One of the times a ranger even came up because it was getting dark, but he either didn't care, or he didn't notice.

One of the other places is actually federally protected by US Fish and Wildlife, so the rangers or whatever there have similar authority to the FBI, still pot smokers abound there.

I know of several people who have developed mental problems as a result of smoking weed. Three of them have very serious problems.

Isn't it also possible that they already had mental problems and were trying to self medicate? Weed helps a lot of people with depression and with getting focused to study, or creative pursuits.

Like any other drug, coffee, sugar, alcohol, laughing gas, psychedelics there are risks and benefits. I don't do drugs myself but I know they've saved lives.

Veterans of the military that suffer from PTSD for example, have practically managed to work through it with just a few psychedelics.
Marijuana has helped countless others.

Weed smokers are very harmful due to the virus people that smoke is more likely to possess an infection with covid nineteen The fingers of the hand are available in contact with the lips while smoking cigarettes and this increases the probabilities of getting the virus on the hand or on the cigarette. They even have a better risk of getting coronavirus because smoking reduces the function of the lungs and heart.

Ofcourse!
I have heard this alot while growing up. It's one of the reasons I avoided it alot.
I wonder if research has be done in this regard...i mean the link with smoking the plant and mental illness.
I have my own theories(and truth):   Overdoes? evil spirits, human mind filled with evil(or the mind filled with bad information), unhealthy body? Fear and sin...
