it's long for school too. the reason is when I was in my country we dont have this many days off, which now we have many.

some banks have 3 days weekend... So...
All our funds are 'view only' on the Weekends thanx to ACH/iBan/Fedwire/etc payment network, having one too many days of doing nothing.
I don't know about where you live, but some banks around here are open on Saturdays and Sundays. They just have shorter hours.
