That is an odd and generous amount to donate to a pool op.

Total BTC in: 522.51237158 (10 inputs)
Total BTC out: 500.01087158
(Fee: 22.5015)

Outputs:
0.01087158
500

I hope it wasn't a bug in mainline! Maybe a multi-send gone wrong where the second destination wasn't included in the transaction? The fee amount doesn't seem to have any correspondence with any input values or sums of input values, and there were several little change amounts included from the wallet to get up to the desired input value of 522.51237158.

I don't think bitcoins will be worth much by the time this happens.

We saw one maybe a month ago that was pretty clearly an overflow bug where someone was storing satoshis in an int32.  This one's not that; it's almost like someone swapped the fee and the change.  But I doubt it's a regular client or we'd see more of it.

I'm not sure there's anything to be done about it unless someone posts here wondering what happened to their coins.

There have been a number of incidents of transactions with weird very high fees (e.g. 170 btc) in the last few months.  Some people had assumed that these were just miners fooling around with their own money (perhaps a retarded kind of money laundering),  but I saw one today that was that I know broadcast long before it was mined (because I, and the other p2pool miners were greedily looking at it in out memory pools):

https://blockexplorer.com/tx/7b3cb56b11507c45930825af4bb5aecfc6904840834cea86413743af0066fe4f

The interesting points here is that the fee is some not round value (doesn't look like someone manually punching in a high fee), that the transaction appears to still have a change output, that the fee is much larger than several of the inputs (so they could have simply been dropped).

I'm concerned that there might be a client out there with broken coin selection code.  Thoughts?
