Yeah I think I would pay a little bit extra for a 1080.
  I don't see any value with these cards. So I am not sure if it is a good thing  to buy.

I think this would be great card to mine. Memory of 1070 and chip almost fast as 1080. So you get 1080 which can mine ether. best combo possible. Mine ether/dagger or yiimp/ccminer shitcoins all great.

Since they are not really out yet, no way to know.  I would assume a little better but no idea.  my EVGA 1070 8G SC's do about 450 sol on zcash and 30mh (without burning up) on Eth.  Yes they can go to 32 on eth but I had a bunch of dead ones running that hot.

The price of these cards is so ridiculously close to the 1080 it’s probably not even worth buying considering it doesn’t even use GDDR5X. You’d be a fool to buy these cards; nVidia only made it to try to kill Vega anyways. It was never supposed to exist. For ~30 extra dollars you get massively improved vram performance, more CUDA cores, better mining performance.
