I'll quote his post from his last thread: "Welsh my apologies", which unfortunately got deleted again. It seems like he's having difficulty responding to threads properly.

I just got your email and now understand you moved my posts to another forum, for the life of me I could not understand why you would want to delete them.

My apologies for calling you a ****, I just though you was being one at the time

There's a Nigerian adage which says "A fowl stands with one leg in a new place she doesn't understand " which means as a new comer when things aren't going well, you should at first calm and try to figure out how things work before you jump into conclusions. But some people don't do so, they ignorantly follow up matters they don't really understand.
I know Welsh is not offended because he knows that OP is kinda confused about how the forum works.
patience is the key, when dealing with newbies, it is important we follow them with patience and I know Welsh, as a leader understands this which is why on his first comment, he did not respond like he was offended by OP's name calling, he probably understood OP more than OP understood himself, which is why he went straight to try to help him understand how things work here.

I personally think that pride, and refusal to unlearn to learn again, is one of the reasons why some newbies turn rude when understanding the way this forum works becomes fraustrating for them, if only they can learn to put away pride,. calm down and ask questions.

I understand the grumble and the frustration. Since @Welsh have made out time to send a personal message to OP explaining what exactly happened to the said post. It is left for OP to go through the message and send a reply where it might seem unclear or confusing. But in the main time the kind gesture of giving such time to explain is worth acknowledging because the thread from OP was just too raw. But as a newbie OP is, it is quite understandable added to the fact no much experience is gathered before now. Welcome @grumpygit but be good and follow the rules you will find the forum fun at as you learn along.

That's definitely some means to get your issues resolved! Hope that's not engineered for use just on the forum but something you carry on even in your local society. Perhaps it's helped you so far and as such, no need to discourage you @OP. Carry on!

I didn't even understand the context of your OP until Welsh became the beginner person and straightened this up  without minding any ne calling or abuse. That's some quality in a person as much as handling a public space. I'll say, if we hope to be respected, we must first respect ourselves, give that respect to others and it would surely find its way back to us.

One thing I would like to bring to your notice @OP is the fact that, everyone here is expendable and you might be gone without anyone even noticing. The founderat Satoshi Nakamoto left and the forum is still running at a great speed. Hope you enjoy the forum as it is, your welcome.

Snipped

Let me say that you're just lucky that your account wasn't banned if not you would have tasted an evasion as an addition, also you're not supposed to address him the way you dis, you can rather request an appeal or enquire why, but not to rain insult with abusive tone on the forum staff, it it were to be another person you did this to, you may experience again this thread being moved to off topic or locked, moreover they have the right to decide and precide judgement over your post if not appropriately placed in order, this have only indicated that you either does not read the rules or decided to post off topic just to go off the wish of the forum, it's not all about Welsh but the forum that instituted things in place.

Op, you couldn't even explain it fully to the community what happens if not that I scaled through welsh post I wouldn't have known what happened. Mate this is natural if your post got deleted or moved to another section, this doesn't calls for you getting angry or asking why your post were moved. There is a beginner sections where you can asked lots of questions about your post and getting some other new post from people as well to know more things and basically this is a law abiding forum whenever you do not follow instructions you would likely get warned for the first time after temp ban and lastly parma ban.

You are a totally ignorant rude cunt.

Just ban me if this is your attitude all the time because this place is of no use to me if this is your attitude.
Look who's talking about himeslf. If all the mods had your kind of attitude here, you would have been permanently banned from here already with no questions asked

I asked a civil polite question.
Judging from this post, It's you who doesn't seem to be civil at all

Despite being a newbie and you could be confused with how things works in the forum or gets annoyed with how your posts gets deleted, This kind of harsh words shows some atoms disrespect to your fellow human being.
This why it's necessary that you learn how to navigate properly and safely here without insulting or using harsh words on any member here.

Therefore ,next time learn how to manage your words and always read rules read before posting in this forum, And I guess you miss out on reading the rules and guidelines to posting,  you may have come across a place that tells you how poor quality and duplicate post gets deleted.

wow your tone is really powerful mate and kinda abusive too.  I can relate to how frustrating it get when your post and thread are being deleted but the moving of threads is actually normal. I think some folks if not all have either had their post moved from the actual board posted to the right board it should be posted. So i think no need to get all insultive with your words. This correction i feel its all part of the learning process . If nothing just take it as a guide to help you understand the ethics of the forum better as some links have already been given to you for proper guildlines on the correct boards to drop your post.

And again try reading the rules of the forum, it might clear up the air to some of the confusion you are experiencing.

And there's an American adage for those who do the exact opposite: "OK chumps, let's do this.  Leeeeroy Jeeeenkins!!".

But I get what you're saying and you're right.  It's unfortunate that some newbies think this forum doesn't have rules or even etiquette as far as how things should be handled.  Hell, I think I've called Theymos names before but I was only 1/4 serious and it was only after I'd been here for years.  Lol.

Yeah, I removed that thread also since it wasn't needed. Anyhow, they've figured out how to respond again now. Fairly old user, but I guess after a long period of inactivity you could forget how to use the forum correctly. It does seem like they might have returned due to their issues with their wallet though, and that's a fairly stressful situation so it was probably due to the frustration from that also.

Hopefully no more problems going forward.

Just to be clear, I definitely don't advocate the way it was handled, and I imagine some users would get upset about it. However, I sort of suspected the circumstances, and at the end of the day it was just pure frustration. I've definitely been called worse Wink.

@skarais that's right, for newbies/beginners the forum is too complicated for the first look and you have to find your way around first. once you have developed a feeling for the whole platform, you will also find very useful threads on the most diverse topics here.

and the way Welsh reacted to grumpygit's tantrum deserves great respect!
factually and calmly he explained everything to the affected user

As for the way grumpygit delivered their frustrations, water off a ducks back. I sort of get when users feel they're being hard done by, and that's obviously going to make you feel like you're being personally attacked, and your freedom of speech being restricted. So, it's not a big deal. It's just a misunderstanding, that's really all it is.
It sounded a bit harsh at first, but luckily he realized his mistake after some explanation and he has already apologized.

Bitcointalk is a simple forum, but not that simple for beginner. @grumpygit just has to learn so much from this mistake that it doesn't get emotional and feel bullied before knowing why. I've seen a lot of newbie get confused and break the rules in the forum, this will only be fixed as soon as they get the proper leads.

@grumpygit, lock your thread now, your problem solved.

I've removed the other duplicate, one with the least replies. I'll keep this thread about since it technically is complaining about me, and not directly about the thread being moved.

For anyone that's confused, grumpygit had a thread that was moved, then posted in Bitcoin Discussion about it being deleted, so I moved that to the Meta section, but left a redirect since I suspected they just didn't understand how the forum works, that's probably when grumpygit saw I moved it, but maybe jumped to the conclusion that was a removal notice or something. Hence, the original posts contents Tongue. grumpygit did make another thread apologizing, so I do think it's just a case of not knowing how the forum works, as that was also in the wrong section Cheesy. I've removed that, although of course apology accepted.

This is why staff shouldn't waste their time contacting newbies.
Sometimes users need a little help working out the forums software. I mean, Simple Machines Forums is anything, but simple. Well, it's pretty simple if you're used to forum platforms, but not everyone is. I suspected that this user was losing his posts, and not understanding that they were getting moved. That's not a massive big deal, as long as it doesn't continue to happen, and we get a ton of threads Tongue.

This is why staff shouldn't waste their time contacting newbies. They take it personally. @OP, this isn't a good way to talk to other people, no need to be grumpy. I would edit the post for this is a misunderstanding and won't look good for you.

I've contacted you via personal message explaining exactly what's happened to your posts, i.e they haven't been removed they've been moved. Moderators move threads that do no belong in the section you've posted in, to keep things organised. There's no personal vendetta against you.  If you do need some more help figuring out how the forum works, just reply to the personal message I sent you, and I'm more than happy to help out.

If you need to find a post that you've lost, just check here.

I will likely remove some of the duplicate posts you've made about the same issues recently, but I'll give you time to see the personal message or this post first. Unless, another moderator removes it beforehand. Seems like you've now figured it out.

It does seem that some of your posts were removed, due to being duplicates, although the originals have all been kept. I imagine the same issue has happened here, where you've lost a thread, and then opened a new one.
