Now that's a very tough question.. Sometimes you will earn more profit if you invested in pre-ico because they always said it is more cheaper than by the time it will be listed on exchanges. However because of so many ico's nowadays, we are not sure anymore which one to buy and which one do we think will become really successful. Not to mention those making fake ico's, because they really do exists, just stealing the investor's money..

It's a tough question for me, when to join a project?
1) During Private Sale,
2) on pre-ICO / ICO,
3) or after it hits the exchanges

What do you usually choose?

i wouldnt invest in pre ico or ico stage in this bearish market. because it is risky. if i wanted to buy anyway i would thry to buy during private sale with a cheaper price that gives me an advantage against ico/pre-ico buyers. or i would wait till it is listed.

Now usually token bought on resale have long lock. And real good pre-sails are usually private and for big sums of money. But if you can get good discount why not. Good ICO usually hardly ever comes under ICO price.

using pre-sale there obvious perk is that you most likely will be offered a discount, sometimes as much as 30% off the standard price of token at open ICO sale. I would be increasingly more wary of pre-ICO sales that are uncapped, and open to the public. I would also be careful in general because most ICOs will fail.

when pre-sale is the best time if you want to invest in an ICO. the purchase of tokens at presale will make you a retainer for long-term investments

It does not really matter, by the way, all of them are goods, it depends on the projects you would like to join. The thing is, you need to make sure that the project has clear vision business model, it will be better if they have working product. Moreover, buy during private Sale/ICO/pre-ico does not always give us maximum profit, sometimes, token will be dumped the first time it hit exchange, even has lower price than the private sale.

each session has different advantages, my opinion the better one is buying when private sale, because you will get bonus token bigger than when you buy it when pre ICO/ICO. but you need proper research before join the private sale, usually developer only provide little time to join on private sale. how about buying it when the token listed on exchange? many ICO will dump right after bounty distribution and listed on exchange, you can get cheaper price than ICO price, but there is no guarantee every ICO will have cheaper price even after bounty dump and listed on exchange.

Getting in on the pre-sale would increase your profits in the long term. However, you really don't know if the project is going to go anywhere at that point. So you very well could end up losing your money instead of making it. It's a risk vs. reward thing.

that depends on the project itself. If im seeing a promising project based on my analyzation and then i will try to go to the private sale and get more and more bonus as much as i can because if it will be traded around the ico price and i will be getting a lot of money. The project will determine the result of answer.

Pre sale is the best time to join but you don't really know if its the bottom pre-sale.
