What altcoins do you think will outperform btc in the upcoming crypto summer?

Most will. When Bitcoin will reach $20k and more a lot of hype will happen in around crypto. That will bring a lot of speculators and stupid money in crypto and they will just buy whatever it is listed on exchanges.

Nah, I think it'll be completely different this time. There's no oje that was in crypto in 2018 would've picked a lesson or two about following hype and buying chasing shitcoin pumps. If any altcoin 'might' outperform Bitcoin is the next uptrend, It'll be the ones with strong fundamentals (and maybe tech). Like BNB and Chainlink to name a few. Since 2020 is the year of Bitcoin thanks to the mining reward halving, I think more money would be flowing to bitcoin than altcoins.

I just checked Neo and it's now up about $2.  Percentage wise, that's about on par with what bitcoin has done since yesterday.  I really don't want to shill any of my personal favorites here, because that's all you're going to get in a thread like this, but Neo is solid in my opinion.

You can't really go all that wrong if you just pick coins out of the top 50 on coinmarketcap, maybe the top 25 if you wanted to be safe.  If bitcoin continues to increase in value they will as well, but that's a big *if*.  I'm still not certain that the season has changed for altcoins, and people might be becoming too optimistic too soon.  Just 3 days ago all the threads were expressing bearish thoughts, and now the mood has changed completely.  I've been saying it's a good time to buy alts now, but the safest course of action is just to sit tight to see if this little bull run is real or not.

crypto season hasn't happened yet. for altcoin which can grow better than the adoption of bitcoin on the market today will not be seen. bitcoin influence on the growth of the crypto market is still very large. today you certainly see how bitcoin moves the crypto market even though the decline is now happening again. the effects of the decline that occurred after the increase were also experienced by altcoin, and this market still has a chance to see how the altcoin season will come in the future when bitcoin increases and stabilizes the price above.

OR maybe misleads?why always need to find something to outperformed Bitcoin?what would b3the benefits?will this bring you profit?
Why instead of looking for this one is find altcoins that may perform well?or may grow higher that enough to at least helps us recover from the past losses?
Anyway I am looking forward for ethereum to perform well not only in summer but to the next winter as well

so far no one has been able to predict with certainty the development of any cryptocurrency and altcoin investors' confidence and patience needed in investing if the value of ETH exceeds other crypto currencies, of course it's luck from investors themselves because as investors we must be able to take advantage every opportunity we will get in investing

For the past 10years bitcoin has been the king of all crypto till date. Since then no altcoin has deemed fit to outperform bitcoin up till now. Don't think there would be such altcoin to do so in years to come.
Now altcoin are all depending on the rise of btc for them to be able to increase in price.

Altcoins are still struggling to raise from the bottom, BTC has outperformed them all, by such a huge dominance of almost 70 percent. I hoped that Bakkt would fix things, but right now I do not know what should happen to let altcoins increase in price.
Is it not glaring to you already that bakkt may still not have any effect on those altcoins, with the hype that bakkt started with before their launch, I expected that it will cause the market to overflow when they were released, but instead, it brought a bad news to the market by making bitcoin crash, although, I believe that it is just a coincidence, but at least, they should have made some impact first before those that had conspiracies to crash the market price came in.

Well, I believe that it is still a developing project and even if bakkt is going to have any effect on the market, it would only be on the market of bitcoin and may not affect altcoins that much. The only project that I anticipated would have effect on altcoin now is the Facebook Libra coin and the Ethereum 2.0 that will be released in 2020.

The only coin that is growing at a pace close to bitcoin now is ethereum. Despite that, it us not so close to it and that might not happen even in two years to this time.
Bitcoin has really gone far, to allow just any coin to surpass it.

yes you're right, maybe ethereum but that still has a great distance from bitcoin. so it's impossible if ethereum will rival bitcoin during the next bull. but despite that I'm sure, ethereum can be one of the altcoins that will erode the dominance of bitcoin.
For some reason I want to see this rivalry. I think that Ethereum has the right to have 50% of Bitcoin's total capitalization even now. Ethereum is very popular and is already being traded on more than 1000 sites and exchanges.
A lot of people already support Ethereum. Maybe it is because at last pump Ethereum is coin which really high and can give a lot of profit for it's holder. If me i am support ethereum because it is good coin for me after bitcoin.

What made you think Bakkt would decrease bitcoin dominance and make altcoins outperform BTC all of a sudden? I don't see any tangible links between the two events that you have suggested here.

I do think that BTC dominance is going to peak at around here, regardless of whether or not the bearish trend continues or we see a reversal in the market.

It's a good time to go long on coins that have had a proven track record in my opinion. I don't think that investing in IEOs and ICOs right now is a good idea since they are so saturated and ideas are repetitive, but proven coins like ETH, EOS and MIOTA can be undervalued when compared to their long term averages. Just don't trade on leverage, since nobody knows when a rally will actually kick off.

Of course, this can't be known in advance.

There are several projects that live. Therefore, in the next season, some altcoins are likely to make much more Xs than Bitcoin. This is especially true for heavily impaired assets. For example, Pundi-X, XYO, Dropil... This is what I quickly remembered from real live projects.

I don't think there will be any alts that can out perform btc when the market is very bullish, we can already see that from this past few days how btc have manage to dominate the whole market up 70% while other alts didn't experience  any growth,
Btc will still take the lead anytime bull run start because during this period some people sometimes sell their alts to hodl btc and make profit, it is what it is.

No doubt Eth is the best altcoin of all time but in order to outperform Bitcoin, it would have to cover a long journey and this is because of the fact that Bitcoin has been more demanded and used than ETH. In addition, ETH has a market cap lower than Bitcoin and the pace of growth of ETH is not as high as that of Bitcoin which are the factors that negate what the OP thinks.

First I have never believed any altcoin is better or can be likened to Bitcoin, let alone predicting the one that will outperform it. Within this crypto space, I don't think there is any altcoin that will ever beat or outperform Bitcoin, as it is a coin on the lips of many thus being invested at all times.

Nothing like this will happen. Why did it occur to you that some altcoins can "outcome" Bitcoin? I suppose that Ethereum market capitalization will grow this summer, but this crypto will never get Bitcoin fame, popularity, power, and trust.
Some guys still think that Bitcoin cash can do it. No, it is hard to believe (for me) that this fork will exist for more than 6-7 years.

In theory, it can look like possible but in practice, it is impossible to beat the coin with more than 50% dominance level. Btc is king and unbeatable in my opinion. It doesn't matter what kind of solution project brings to the ecosystem but competing with BTC and ETH is not possible.

First of all to outperform BTC we need BTC to stop growing, do we really need it?
As for my thoughts, I see ETH is underrated and its price is really low for now, so this is the first candidate.
Also, look at chinese market, NEO or ONT could beat it

I agree on you. Ethereum is also rising but it cannot compete with bitcoin's performance today. Bitcoin has made a quite huge increase in the previous days and might skyrocket even more in the next months. They have both potentials in the crypto market but still differ when it comes to performance.

I do not know if the question is well formulated, but from the point of view that I understand, you ask if what is the currency that will surpass bitcoin in the summer, and the answer is simple, none, for now there is no currency that can overcome Bitcoin, if we take into account the altcoins that exist, all depend directly on bitcoin, because when bitcoin goes up or down it affects all the altcoins, until now no currency has come out that makes it competitive, and if any, it has to be with Very particular characteristics, and would have to wait for the behavior of such currency in at least about 5 years to see what structure it can take.

For me withe the look of things, I would say Litecoin because of its coming halving, apart  from this Bitcoin will rule 2019, most of the IEO have being dropping off after their IEO and expect this to be the trend this year, most of this coin/tokens have no value they are offering and with the likelihood of more institutional investors entering the space, more money will flow into BTC

in all these years it is only bitcoin that is performing well and all the rest of the altcoins have a short lived moment in the sun while they are getting pumped hard and that moment passes as fast as it came along and then the dumping begins!

Bitcoin is firmly taking the place of the cryptocurrency leader. Its level of capitalization is greater than the capitalization of all other cryptocurrencies. This means that Bitcoin firmly holds its position and therefore it is too early to discuss the issue of its displacement. Cryptocurrency is developing very quickly and over time, the loss of a high level of capitalization by Bitcoin is inevitable. What will happen next, while no one can say.

None.

I don't think that any of the altcoins which are in existence now has the capability to overtake Bitcoin anytime in the near future. Bitcoin is far ahead of the others. If any of these alts have a remote chance of offering some competition to BTC, it has to be Ether. The technology behind ETH is more advanced when compared to that of BTC, but it has failed to overtake BTC in terms of acceptability and adoption.

Based from my direct analysis and opinion about your point or subject, the word outperform doesn't seems possible or even having a 50 percent higher chance of occurrence. Through looking at the market graph and bitcoin's market price, you can already see how great it is and the gap is quite too big for altcoins to even withstand to reach it.

I don't think we would have any coin that is going to outperform btc even in years to come because no matter how we try to abadon btc, we discover that it is the father and will always remain the father, besides we have just very few coins in the crypto market that really offers a real life value like what bitcoin offers. How can any altcoin outperform BTC when BTC has been in the market for like 10+ years? And BTM some coin even reaches the level of BTC, BTC would have surpassed it. That's why many small investors have not chosen to invest in BTC and have rather invested in ETH. There are some promising coins like XRP, Tether that have made huge profit for the investors but as the market crashed, their price also crashed. I am currently looking out for FX as it's a new coin and may be able to be good for investment.

There isn't any altcoin which can outperform bitcoin, neither short, medium or on long run (maybe just on the very very long run).
You can see the market always follow bitcoin: altcoins always pump if bitcoin is pumping, never the opposite. Altcoins always benefit from bitcoin, they need bitcoin doing well to be fine too. No one of them have potential to take bitcoin position. Although there aren't many absolute truths in crypto space, I take the risk of saying it's one of them.

If you think that it's possible for long term, stop thinking that there will be an altcoin that will able to outperform bitcoin. Why you just don't take bitcoin and think that it should outperform all of the altcoins in the market?

ETH will take a leading position again for altcoins after the BTC. Also, I think Binance Coin has a good chance to get a good position. It still has a huge gap between the current price and the possible one. Next one should be IOST and EOS. Both are good at dApp development. Oh, don't forget about the Tomochain, has some good activity recently.
For altcoins, there's no doubt for Ethereum as it is the 2nd top high rank in the market. As for Binance coin, they have their own network now but still needs more time to beat Ethereum if its aiming to be the king of alts.

For long term, a cheap coins has bigger opportunity to gain more profit than Bitcoin. Let's say Bitcoin price increased 50% in a year, these cheap coins can double or triple the price in a year. I can't mentioned one but I will suggest to pick a coin that has an active community and developments, also better for the team to be active on their personal twitter and talk much about blockchain progress.

Probably some obscure shitcoins, because they tend to be more volatile, so a sudden jump by 50% is not uncommon. But big names like ETH, XRP and EOS are in a very bad spot now, when Bitcoin rises, they always immediately fall, and usually recover a bit if Bitcoin doesn't drop, but this time the fall looks really bad. People are getting tired of alts, they see that they don't have fundamentals, only hype, so there are no safe bets this time. Better stay with BTC.

Altcoins doesn't really have the right tech to outperform the btc market. Most of the coins are either a fork of btc or some kind of shit erc-20 coin created out of thin air from a stolen code. Ethereum can be a good competitor for btc in terms of development, but considering the higher supply of the coin and the block reward the total market value surpassing btc would never happen.

Probably that stands with Monero too, they don't have a limited supply and after certain period of time the 0.3 XMR doesn't get reduced to support the miners. Dash seems to be a better alternative in terms of price and total market value while considering them with Monero

No. There is no altcoin would ever outperform btc in this situation, I mean, there are so many peoples trade in bitcoin and use bitcoin as their main crypto.

are you looking for short term or long term? because in long term there has never been any coin that could outperform bitcoin and there will never be any at least not for another decade.

if it is short term then it is impossible to predict because you want us to predict an unpredictable event called "pump" of an unpredictable choice! my best guess is that this time (like all the previous times) the record will be in the hands of one of the least known coins with a very small market cap and a small price somewhere between 10 satoshi and 0.1 satoshi and the pump will be around 10000%
