You can use altcoins like Litecoin, Dogecoin. They are Proof of Work altcoins with cheap transaction fee.

They are two best Proof of Work alternative coins for you when you can not afford to pay transaction fee with Bitcoin. They both need about 19 hours to 20 hours to give you similar security like 6 confirmations from Bitcoin blockchain, about 1 hour.

Thanks for the reply. I checked out that graph. Clearly litecoin and dogecoin have much lower fees currently. It will probably be worth exchanging my bitcoins for one of those just to save on fees for a few purchases I plan on making. I don't mind waiting a bit longer for confirmations, not in a big hurry.

Aside from those coins you could also check this article https://coinwire.com/cheapest-crypto-to-transfer/ since you will find another option to choose which is best to transact or exchange depends on your needs.

Bitcoin fee is so high so its really better to know which alternative is better and I think those site accept crypto as mean of their payment accepts that top 8 coin since they are quiet popular and listed on top exchange. Also just deal with it on top exchangers and avoid doing p2p to any random person to avoid scams.

It doesn't make sense to exchange Bitcoin for shitcoin because you still have to pay high fees for that transactions, unless you already have coins on centralized exchange, and I don't recommend that.

Swapping services within an app mostly cost much less transaction fees than exchanging coins the normal way. For this reason, transaction costs are not necessarily the decisive criterion. However, as you wrote, Lightning is also an option if it is offered by crypto payment providers, but this has not been the case with all providers I have seen so far.

I want to spend some crypto on some online purchases but bitcoin fees are way too high right now for that. I see that a lot of other coins are accepted on various sites, which ones have lowest transaction fees?

Lightning Network is most likely accepted, it is very fast and fees are minimal, but you already need to have LN coins ready before fees get high.
If you don't have any other option just use any accepted shitcoin with lowest fees, maybe some stable coin.
I dont't recommend holding any shitcoins long term.

Why pay a fee at all if there is a way to send transactions without any fees? There is one coin that used to be quite popular and the distribution was in such a way that it was literally distributed for every solved captcha - then it was called RaiBlocks, today it is Nano Wink

It all depends on the network you're using first, if you're making use of ethereum network, most of their transaction fees are very high even than bitcoin, but you can make use of the Binance Smart Chain Netwo which is almost cheaper for every transactions, there are some altcoins you can also uses which their transaction fee are very low, some gave their own network while some have it on BSC, some examples are litecoin, USDT which is a stable coin and so many altcoins I may not wanted to keep mentioning here.
Off chain is one of solutions like Bitcoin Lightning Network.

On chains with altcoin blockchains are other choices but I would like to use altcoin blockchains that are Proof of Work than blockchains with Proof of Stake, Masternodes, Smart contracts because they are more sensitive and more vulnerable to hacks and attacks.

With Proof of Work blockchains, there are more works to do for a successful network attacks and attack cost is bigger.

You have an additional challenge, which is that this currency has low withdrawal fees depending on the CEX you use, so I suggest that you first choose a CEX suitable for your country and the payment method you use (if you have not already chosen one) and then compare the withdrawal fees via ----> http://withdrawalfees.com/
Then currencies that have low fees are the best to use.

Generally, XRP, LTC, USDT (MATIC POS) are all cryptocurrencies with low withdrawal fees.

Thanks for all these informative replies. I see there are plenty of exchanges with low withdrawal fees. I'll probably go with litecoin, or maybe monero which also has low network fees. All the online shops I want to buy from accept both of these coins.

I'm planning on finding an exchange with a good rate and low fees, then just exchanging enough btc all at once to have enough to cover my purchases. That way I only have to pay the excessive bitcoin network fee once, to deposit funds to the exchange, then use the altcoin for several transactions and pay only pennies per trade. Whatever the exchange fees amount to, will surely be much less than $50 usd per btc transaction!

Monero looks like it might be good to hodl for awhile too, since i hear it's a bit more resistant to all this spamming, ordinals inscriptions that are clogging up the btc mempool and driving up fees.

Instant cryptocurrency exchange with own reserves!

It should depend on what other crypto they accept. Let's say I say TRX is too cheap and the transaction time is too fast. I could suggest TRX but then you may see that the website does not accept TRX as a payment method. So, at first, you have to check which crypto they accept. Most websites accept Litecoin and ETH as other payment methods. But, Litecoin is the only cheaper option there. You could have more options like Doge, TRX, and BNB. These are the most popular coins that cost cheaper transaction fees. It seems you have a similar suggestion already. So, you should check the website first.

If you could have mentioned those sites/cryptos available there, it'd have been better, now I'll have to play guessing game.

EVM chains like Optimism, Polygon, BSC are cheapest to transact on.

While Hive, Dogecoin, LTC, Sol, Osmosis, Stellar — are some of cheapest cryptos to transact with.

I doubt if this online platform you are talking about accepts all crypto as form of payment. If they do, then i think Ltc, trx, doge and hive are coin that i am familiar with in terms of low transaction fee.

Based on the transfers that I've done before, excepting LTC and DOGE because they're no doubt cheap fees. BSC(BNB) and Matic are also cheap in fees. I've also done some transfers in XLM and they're cheap as well. You've got a lot of choices if you want to use alternative cryptos to save fees.

The most common ones are BNB, LTC, Doge and TRX.

It will probably be worth exchanging my bitcoins for one of those just to save on fees for a few purchases I plan on making. I don't mind waiting a bit longer for confirmations, not in a big hurry.
If that's what you'll do, don't forget that there might be some adjustment with the total value of what you're exchanging also the fees that you'll play upon doing it.

There are many altcoins with low fees, but only a few are accepted by crypto payment providers like Bitpay which can be integrated in shops. I would strongly recommend to use Litecoin. It is accepted by many shops/payment providers and has very less fees (depends how busy the network is, but usually fees are less than 0.5 cent per transaction).
