It's not a sport, but bear baiting.

Today I learned about a historic sport called fox tossing where you try and throw foxes as far as possible. It looks something like this.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/38/Fox_tossing_dresden_small.jpg

I am curious what are the weirdest and cruelest sports ever invented by people either current or historic.
Crazy world!!!  Shocked The story, as I understand, the facts silent when and who threw the fox furthest.  Cheesy Who today are interested in such a game? I do not.
Nowadays, these sports have gone into the past, so of course no one will have to look for foxes on the street. There was a baseball, football, golf and others.
By the way, golf is my favorite game. I am learning to play it, is now looking for himself where to buy golf clubs.  Here's a cool article for nice examples http://jonsguide.org/best-top-spikeless-golf-shoes-reviews/... 8)I almost forgot myself to find the fox to throw it somewhere far away.

There's this thing called "Shrovetide mob football" that still gets played somewhere in England. Basically thousands of people from 2 towns compete to try and get a pigs bladder to the opponents town. Chaos ensues.

It's a pretty historic thing apparently: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_football

Did you know mob football was banned on April 1314 by Edward II
Football also got banned in the 17th century for 300 years, they even brought in anti-riot laws.

So draconian back then.

Bed Racing? http://www.topendsports.com/sport/unusual/bed-racing.htm

The competitors race in teams of six, plus one on the bed. Each team must provide their own bed, decorated in the theme for the year. The bed runs on four wheels, but also need to be able to float, as explained below.

The 3km run race begins and ends at Conyngham Hall. About halfway through the run, the teams face the one-in-five gradient climb to Castle Top before it’s back down the hill and toward the final challenge – crossing a river.

Good article I'm very happy to not have been born in the 17th century. It's amazing what kind of entertainment people come up with without TV or computers.
