ok, is the a particuler brand of risers that is recommended or all the risers bout the same quality?

exactly correct Cheesy got many of the 1xrisers and they are just as effective as having them cards directly in a x16 slot on the board.

No, the number does not matter at all. In order for the GPU to mine only a tiny tiny amount of data is actually sent to the GPU. The GPU processes that bit of data for anywhere from 1-30 seconds - that is where all the real work is done. A PCIe x1 riser is overkill for this. The amount of bandwidth is trivial so it does not matter at all, and buying a larger x8 or even x16 riser will not effect mining performance at all.

i was wondering if i had gotten a riser for my graphics cards if they would mine ether better then say just having a gpu installed in a x16slot and a x8 slot?

also does anyone have any they recommended? preferably on newegg as i get free ship there.
