A Satoshi in my opinion should not have an acronym. Metric system provides acronyms for divisions that are not powers of 3 but it is better to keep things in powers of 3 as it makes mistakes easier to spot. I'm not sure metric does 10^-8 though.
You could just call it 10 nanoBTC (nBTC) if you wanted.
Yes you could and if bitcoin is ever further divided that would probably be best but since 10 nBTC is the smallest possible amount that the blockchain can handle I would personally recommend against it at this time. If the bitcoin is further divided then use of satoshi should be faded out, and further division should probably be done to 10^-12 WHEN further division is justified.

No I hope not = mbit being different than mBTC will only confuse people.
I could see uBTC in place of μBTC because of keyboards but even that I don't really like.

In my opinion we only need BTC, mBTC, and μBTC
More is confusing.
BTC = Bitcoin
mBTC = milli Bitcoin - 1/1000th of a BTC - .0001 BTC
μBTC = micro Bitcon - 1/1000000th of a BTC - 1/1000 of a mBTC - .000001 BTC
A Satoshi is 1/100th of a μBTC (.01 μBTC) just like a penny is 1/100th od a dollar.

Satoshi only one I know of.
I think he means are their names for all the 8 digit places in bitcoin. Currently I believe we only have satoshi for the smallest denomination. I havent heard any other names.

your right, I using mBTC very often. There is uBTC (micro) as well, one milionth
