Till now, I really don't find any alternative other than Bitcoin talk because we have seen many community members kept answering the question in a helpful way, even I don't find this much user base in any other forum. That's why bitcoin talk is the best place to acquire some good knowledge.
This forum have many reason to stay occupied by many users. Surely, bounty campaign and signature campaign (who paid with btc) is the main factor that causes every user to give correct and proven information. In other hand, this forum is filled by many people who understand and can predict a project that is scam and legit correctly, sure enough, with this matters will make many people interested and don't have deep concern when following the project. This is what distinguishes this forum with another cryptocurrency forum.
We cant deny that this forum do has it all when it comes to informations (which is normal for a forum being created by Satoshi itself). How much more the traffic did increase when most people
do know that there are easy various ways on how to earn btc without any investment which its being flooded by those people together with trash post. When it comes to precise and good advise i will really say that this forum has it all. Theres no need for alternatives but if op do insist then i do know some similar forums but not popular as this.
Why would they find someone new other than this forum when everything was all recorded in here compared to the new one. What would be their main reason why they would like to find the alternative other than this forum? I think there must be a hidden agenda why would they wanted to find the alternative of this forum except of that technical discussion.

I really do not know why you don't like this forum. There is everything you need here. As for me I like Reddit system, but it's easier to bring your news to the top there. You can just buy upvotes on upvotes.io or other service. Here no one pays attention to this. I do not know what else you are looking for.
I also like Bitcointalk. Do not compare it with Reddit. upvotes.io is a really good service, and I do not know it is good or not that there are no such service for promotion on bitcointalk.org

There is nothing compared to this forum actually, but yes there is more ..
you can find it at this wiki :
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Bitcoin_Wiki:Community_portal

I knew this site but still we cannot use this site like bitcointalk bro. You can find the information on the site and someone post about it. This is the information we know the bitcoin wiki site but you can check the site bestcointalk.
This site very much similar to the bitcointalk you will get all the sections and information every day new thread and posts and thread everything you can find it.
To the forum you had given http://www.bestcointalk.com/ I see no traffic on this one.

This is the next forum i would see to have considerable traffic https://bitcoingarden.org/forum/
which is more better than on roger ver's forum https://forum.bitcoin.com/

Its up on our choice which one we would use up but i would say this is the best forum when it comes to bitcoin and altcoin talk.

I confess that I except BTT more and do not know the services on the Internet, where there is as much information and communication as here. And where so much time to take to also visit other services, I am completely satisfied with BTT.

Honestly, they've come and gone.

I think BitcoinTalk serves the purpose well. While I am 100% an advocate for competition (and tbh, I don't think it would be a bad thing in this case): I don't believe another forum/community will be able to compete w/ Bitcoin.

Best change is social media sites / communities like the Reddit

in terms of competition i agree on what have you already said above that no other forum (crypto related forum ) that can possibly compete with bitointalk.org due to the reason that bitcointalk.org do have a lot of income oportunities for thier users such as bounty campaign/signature campaigns , services , and giveaways .

though i did see a couple of forums on the past that tries to copy the overall layout of bitcointalk forum as well as the url or domain name of it . so you guys be careful on what sites youv visited because they are probably a scam and hack your forum accounts .

This forum is enough to find an answer to all your question that is why there are people who want to find other forum with less information about crypto world. Used the search button to easy finding what you want to rwad dont mind the crowded topics here to less the complication for you.

Join Telegram or other group near your locality and you can discuss about crypto while sharing everything you know with them and you can reply or ask directly if there something you want to clarify.... It helps joining crypto groups chat

LOL funny idea. Op have asked you the forum which can be used to discuss the cryptocurrencies on forum kind of platform. I know site called bestcointalk to discuss the cryptocurrencies topics same like here.
Still personally I do not like any site which provide the same facilities bro. Ignore the others and keep stay on Bitcointalk for better relation with the crypto users.

I really think this is going no where.

I'd love to find a forum where it's less crowded with a lot more technical discussions. Ideally people there don't care about levels. There are new technologies being discussed.

I know there are lots of quality discussion on the various github repos, but I'd still prefer a forum setting. I checked out Ethereumtalk.org but it's nothing.

I don't like the flying of shit in posts here, neither do I like some of the the condescending admins here. Just like bitcoin itself, it's up for fork when the community can't agree.

I remember that a while ago someone was talking about a decentralized forum, maybe this is a real use for the chain -- to fork forum easily. So that all existing users will still keep their accounts on the new forum, just the rules will be different.

Seriously, can't think of a better use case for DAO than such a forum!

as a total newbie this thread is rather funny. Why not post with your original account?

yeah, sometimes I also wonder why didn't Satoshi release bitcoin using his real name, ever thought about that?

You are so funny, read your reply I chuckled! Why do not others like BTC, BTC has satoshi, Is there anything ETH?

I have been a moderator for two Crypto currency forums so far and I can tell you that it is a nightmare to moderate a forum

where everyone is satisfied with the content that are posted or the way it is moderated. You will always get shitposters and

shills and people posting FUD. This forum have loads of rules and a good merit system to reduce these problems and I think it

is a good improvement over everything we had before.  Wink

Yes, you are right i too agree there are many shit posters in Bitcointalk forum but Moderators took their time to reduce the spamming they started thinking in a different way to control flow members and shit posting in this forum. So they come up with the merit system it is very helpful to the community in order to control them.

No, they are not to be blamed for this mess... as I said, you will always have your shit posters no matter what you implement.

Remember most users see the sanitized version of this forum, after the moderators have done their "cleaning", so just

imagine what mess this would have been, if it was not moderated. I have been part of other forums that are not Crypto

related and some of those forums are chaotic.  Roll Eyes

Nothing can be compared with bitcointalk to discuss the crypto related topics,
If you want to discuss the crypto currrencies apart from bitcointalk you may go with reddit.
This site will give more exposure to the investors and people who want to share, learn and earn with cryptos.
There is some forum which is specially discuss about the altcoins and other things but this will be top ever.
Don't know why people do still seek out for another forum yet this is the best and the biggest bitcoin or crypto forum and even as of these days I cant see any similar forum that would tie or match up with bitcointalk itself. All informations about bitcoin and altcoin and other similar things is already on this forum. Why would search for more?
I have seen some bitcoingarden forum but as expected it do have less traffic and too far away compared to this forum.

Only bitcointalk is a best proven and biggest forum. All other forums are small and without any normal content. Really nothing can replace bitcointalk.
On the second stage maby forum.bitsmedia, but this forum only for Russian speaking ppl.

honestly i tell you i tried 2-3 forums like bitcoingarden , rebellious , but they are not popular as this forum . also not much posts there and people are mostly new . substitute of BTT forum can be reddit discussion , gifthub . you can get news from sites like CCN , Coindesk , Bitcoin.com .

but for a help of advance level you will still need this forum as i saw all big projects started their journey from here (ANN thread) and other discussions .

I really think this is going no where.
Welcome to the club.

I'd love to find a forum where it's less crowded with a lot more technical discussions. Ideally people there don't care about levels. There are new technologies being discussed.
There is no such place. If you want to follow technical discussions, then:
a) Follow the Bitcoin development mailing list.
b) Follow the Lightning development mailing list.
c) Read the #bitcoin-core-dev IRC channel.
d) Read the #bitcoin-dev IRC channel.
e) Read the #lnd IRC channel.
f) Obviously, (as you've mentioned) pay attention to the Github repos.

I checked out Ethereumtalk.org but it's nothing.
mETH is a centralized shitcoin, don't expect proper technical discussion there.

Just like bitcoin itself, it's up for fork when the community can't agree.
That won't work.

Seriously, can't think of a better use case for DAO than such a forum!
Horrible idea.

Technical discussion is subjective. The people in a particular forum term differently what is technical. All the same, I am here to learn.

after bitcointalk steemit took the majority of the stake in forum discussion and blockchain integrated payments so in the near future we may expect soon more innovative forum soon
Hey man sorry for intruding why did you revive this post it's been two weeks after the last post I know you're trying but reviving old post is ridiculously especially if that post was already answered by DT members and especially on this section you should've tried on economics below. It would probably acceptable if you revive some post there.

Several forums similar to Bitcointalk have existed, but none had succeeded. I'm not sure about the correct url, but it is for the altcoins. In that it has got the same form as our bitcointalk.org, such as the ranking, merit, badges, etc. Even some bounty campaigns too were running.

That is really great mate. If there is option to earn money with the other forum newbies who is looking to earn the tokens via bounty will be looking to earn the bitcoin and ethereum if there is option for campaigning there bro.

I have came across many forum and places to earn the money but none of forum will be able to various option to earn the money like doing in this forum mate. You please share the link of the forum you mentioned here.

I once saw a forum full of bounties where various ICOs and bounty campaigns were being promoted their however it eventually failed. Since most of its users were bounty hunters, there was not much discussion happening. There are actually many forums that try to replicate bitcointalk.org and even copy the same interface even though it's too outdated however not many succeed because they don't get the same audience nor do they attain enough users.
You are right because they are not most popular, I think those people want like bitcointalk why they are come because of profit more population the more chance of having profit so bitcointalk.org the best site since it is the oldest among all bounties sites.
We considered as a bitcointalk.org is an original site because it is made by Satoshi Nakamoto.

I'm sort of new to Bitcointalk but I like to switch between Bitcointalk and Reddit. I like these kind of formats where I can just scroll through each topic, trying to learn something new. Personally, I'm learning a lot just switching between the two forums and I can't wait to just keep learning more.

bitcointalk is the original forum when it comes to bitcoin and other crypto related talks and reddit is only indexing or coppying some of the existing thread here on bitcointalk but when it comes to general discussions i think reddit is more better.

Anyways there are lots of alternatives for bitcointalk forum , some that i can think of are : altcointalk , bitcoingarden , cryptotalk , primedice forum , etc.

But i will only recomend one site and that is none other than bitcointalk.org because as i said earlier bitcointalk.org is the only original crypto forum founded by the father of crypto satoshi nakamoto.

What about /r/bitcoin? There are good disucssions made there and some of the BTC developers go there sometimes to discuss their thoughts and proposals.

There are also funny memes and threads which make it less boring.

I can't stand it myself. It's more Reddit's format itself than the content, but a lot of the content is irritating too plus it's very hard to find older stuff when you're on the hunt for useful information.

It is much better for the latest news. I often notice something has a huge thread on there when it's never even mentioned here.

Beyond that the network effect applies to forums just as much as currencies. Every day this place stays ahead makes it harder for anywhere else to catch up.

Yeah but there's no other forum that is more connected to everything about BTC and cryptocurrencies. But if you read the thread starter's post again, is he trying to make us go to the phishing site bitcointalk.to lol?

To paraphrase him.

"Just like bitcoin itself, it's up for fork when the community can't agree.

I remember that a while ago someone was talking about a decentralized forum, maybe this is a real use for the chain -- to fork forum easily. So that all existing users will still keep their accounts on the new forum, just the rules will be different."

I have never joined or listen about a forum bigger and more valuable than Bitcointalk and found it the best so i never search for others.

Also in coming time you will never hear anything bigger or better than bitcointalk about the btc and other crypto currencies which you cna find all the information required about anything here and get the best advice as well about it. Also you have a chance to earn through various sources from here.

This forum is much better because it offers a lot of features that exist. In addition, the huge number of users making this forum has a lot of information, everyone is discussing and can get valuable information. In addition there are also many sub forums here, and one of the interesting is a sub forum of selling and buying. Unlike other forums, I think bitcointalk.org is the best and I am happy to have known this forum for more than 3 years. What a fantastic year for me, because I am now able to earn a pretty fantastic income. Applying the knowledge we get while learning and reading the information in this forum will be a determinant of what we will get.

Bitcoin FTW!
The fact that the r/bitcoin subreddit doesn't actively utilize tags or a sorting system and the fact that you can't really filter out non-serious posts like memes and price updates, etc are the biggest downsides of the subreddit. I still actively use the site as a whole and visit r/bitcoin several times a day, but if you're looking for precise information, bitcointalk is the best way to go. That's not to say that there isn't serious discussion on Reddit (responses on Reddit occasionally are comparable to those found on this forum or stackexchange). News about Bitcoin gets there quicker than on most other mediums, and there's always an abundance of interesting and informative articles every time you go there.

Not sure why no one has mentioned it yet, https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/, albeit that this isn't really a forum, there are some great questions/answers discussion about the technicalities of bitcoin.

You'll rarely find spam there, and mostly straightforward answers to (mostly) technical questions.
I use this site very often, for my Q/A thread and for other purposes and I have found it very helpful. The questions are asked, and are answered with good insight. Its easy to find any technical questions related to bitcoin in this forum/whatever.
What about /r/bitcoin? There are good disucssions made there and some of the BTC developers go there sometimes to discuss their thoughts and proposals.

There are also funny memes and threads which make it less boring.
Reddit is also filled with spam but maybe with a little more humor. But that place is definitely not the best for bitcoin related technical questions without any doubt.

But still I think that bitcointalk.org is a top choice, everyone who knows bitcoin will know this forum. With a variety of topics that are very uptodate and also premises the number of users is very extraordinary then has made this forum becomes very large. So never to look and look for alternatives because all the stuff and information already exists in this really great forum.

What about /r/bitcoin? There are good disucssions made there and some of the BTC developers go there sometimes to discuss their thoughts and proposals.

There are also funny memes and threads which make it less boring.

There is alternative. Called blockchain forum  https://www.blcx.org

I have lost 2 accounts already and admin do not even bother to respond to emails. Even this account got negative rating for complaining about a merit points. Some thinks they earn more trust by reporting other users
You deserve it man! Each forum has its own rules therefore you should really be responsible on reading up first if you dont like to suffer consequences and now you are suggesting another forum with dont have even post being made on there. I dont see any alternatives or any other forum that would be match up with this one, bitcointalk has it all. If there are some forums exist then it wont really be as good with this thats why lots of people will always prefer this place.

I don't think it can replace Bitcointalk. All resources are now based on Bitcointalk. Today’s results are not immediate, but day after day. It took many years to achieve today’s status. In fact, the forum grew up with BTC.

you're wrong to find technical discussion here.  Grin This place is for discussing about merit, how level up, definition of shitposting, shitposter...blah blah and some mad men think that they are hero going around giving away merit

Either you have not accessed all the threads available on this forum else your are ignorant about the forum. It provides all the required information regarding crypto be it at beginner level or an expert opinion you will get all the answers under this crypto forum.

So guys if you have any doubt you can ask questions in the relevant threads.

I really think this is going no where.
Welcome to the club.

I'd love to find a forum where it's less crowded with a lot more technical discussions. Ideally people there don't care about levels. There are new technologies being discussed.
There is no such place. If you want to follow technical discussions, then:
a) Follow the Bitcoin development mailing list.
b) Follow the Lightning development mailing list.
c) Read the #bitcoin-core-dev IRC channel.
d) Read the #bitcoin-dev IRC channel.
e) Read the #lnd IRC channel.
f) Obviously, (as you've mentioned) pay attention to the Github repos.

maybe i understand it wrong, besides technical discussions, exactly what kind of meritorious posts are the forum look to promote?   i looked at the recent posts with merits (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=toptopics),  most of them are posts that extolling the new merit system.   (or helping to promoting, explaining, the new system.)

are those posts the admins want to define as meritorious posts?
if not, should they pay more attention to the actually useful ones and promote those?

if they want to fight signature campaigns, should they remove their signatures first?

Just like bitcoin itself, it's up for fork when the community can't agree.
That won't work.

Seriously, can't think of a better use case for DAO than such a forum!
Horrible idea.

why? I guess horribleness is relative.   things just need to be less horrible than the alternative
Can't understand what's your point. You are looking for alternative bitcointalk, what do you expect? Suggesting of forum.bitcoin.com? No!
You asked technical question and didn't get answer? I highly doubt while we have these two persons: gmaxwell, achow101.
Do others post shit? Just ignore them. I am amazed why you don't even expect shit post on forums, not everyone is genius in crypto world.
Why do you care about merit posts in Meta board? You are looking for technical discussion, so hang on this board, click on - on left side.

If you create the anonymous account on any website then you will not get the stucked anywhere.
Nothing can replace bitcointalk ever mate.

If you're interested in altcoins you could try https://cryptocurrencytalk.com/

AKAIK this is it for Bitcoin discussion forums. All the others that launched didn't get enough people using them to make it worthwhile. You need to get a certain quorum of posters to create enough interesting posts to attract others to join so it's a very difficult thing to do when there's already a dominant established competitor. There's Reddit of course but that's not really a forum.

I checked out Ethereumtalk.org but it's nothing.
mETH is a centralized shitcoin, don't expect proper technical discussion there.

Why not post with your original account?

yeah, sometimes I also wonder why didn't Satoshi release bitcoin using his real name, ever thought about that?

anyway to answer in a sensible way.. why don't you check out the forum by the honorable Mr Ver?

bad try, not sensible
