What are the differences between parliamentary and presidential forms of government?
The two major difference of the Parliamentary and Presidential form of government is that in the Parliamentary form the head of the state is chosen from the legislative body and usually called him “Prime Minister, while in the Presidential form the head of the state is chosen directly by the people through an election like in the US and Philippines and called him “President”. Another thing is in the parliamentary government the passing of laws are fast and efficient since the executive and legislative is unified. However, in the presidential, the passing of laws will take time especially if majority of the legislative body is from other political party of that of the president. Finger pointing is common in a presidential form when the government is facing crisis because of political issues.

There are indeed different types of parliamentary and presidential systems depending on the individual countries.
What we can generalize is in a presidential system the voters of the country selects the president from an election while on parliamentary system, the parliament selects one.
Though there are exceptions of president or president and PM being selected by the parliament, PM being directly elected, both being directly elected and several other practices.

The major difference between these two systems is that in a Presidential system,the executive leader,the President,is directly voted upon by the people ( or via a body elected specifically for the purpose of electing the president,and no other purpose),and the executive leader of the Parliamentary system,the Prime minister is elected from the legislative branch directly.
