Shift, Blocknet are my two "hidden" gem coins for the year. Quotes because, well, they aren't so hidden anymore. Both grew well over the last year and yet I still think they're very, very undervalued.

Shift - focusing on decentralized storage/website platform. I estimate a $40MM+ market cap in the next few months (when Phantom is released) and more as its usage increases. The results could be similar to Maidsafe yet with an easier-to-use platform (Javascript, which most webdevs are familiar with).
Blocknet - trustless, atomic coin swaps between blockchains - removing the giant elephant in the room. I estimate a $200MM+ market cap is possible within a year just based on a few reasons: Waves market cap, the endless use cases, and the fact Blocknet can bridge the entire crypto ecosystem.

Blitz if you want to bet on the whole Stratis sidechain deal. But most have got in at < 10k satoshis and there was practically no other developments/activity in the thread until recently since the price spiked. So it is risky in that sense. But the current $5MM market cap is nothing, so short term $10-15MM market cap (2-3x value) is very possible.

I would say Stratis, Iconomi and Darcrus.
Stratis - platform like Etherium, price is rising. They are based on C#, so it is native for Microsoft - might make some nice deals with them.
Iconomi - unique coin, regarding assets. They are about to release their platform.
Darcrus - also unique function. It actually serves like a stock based on company "sigwo". Based on the company's profit, coins get burned and thus increase in value.

I agree with you on Darcrus. It will hit $ 1 this year I believe.

I'd say Bitbay, Stratis, Nexus, Nem, and ZrCoin. All have real world application that can sustain their longterm development and value

Maybe Dash

I agree. Dash was instamined, the initial distribution was not fair, and the price is too high now. In addition, Dash is not so good as Monero technically.

"Comparable to bitcoin" is a BIG term haha, tho damn look at Zcash, touching 0.1BTC it has been! Cheesy Zcash could be big, long term as well.
ETH still hasn't stretched it's legs IMO, watch for 0.1 as Casper gets closer
LBRY is a sleeping giant as well, linux based devs with high standards has made a very under radar project to watch for sure, and the price is preeeety valuable this low i think.

SO hard to say, Could be a new one launched any day too! heh Cheesy

i haven't bought yet but skycoin is very promising.

I regularly enjoy skycoin dev's posts and comments, rather than the coin itself.

He's very knowledgeable and skycoin could explode long term..

short term, there's very little excitement but long term, it's a very interesting project.

Strong development for long time.

What would be comparable to Bitcoin circa 2009-2010? Cryptos that could either go bust or perform bigly and make a lot of people rich (or poor)?

No chitcoins please. Coins that actually have committed devs but haven't gotten the attention yet

minereum,, i think this coin could become the silent giant in crypto world,,
the dev have comitted to developing his project..
