Hello guys,

Straight to the question, What information is the most important to learn about cryptocurrency related topics and that are vital to earn?
I'm also curious, Why do people want bitcoin/ethereum so badly?

Experts may help newbies, jr. members and me of course from your answers.
If this thread is not suitable/may be a spam or not helpful I'll delete/remove this thread.

This is a vague request as the information regarding is infinite and it solely depends on what you really need.
I'll sum up the things I have learnt over a period of time, there may be more information, but this should suffice for now.

1) Choose a secure wallet like electrum, never share your seed, keys and password with anyone, never make any transactions on a public wifi or a unsecured network.
2) Avoid exchanges many will say you can keep it there, but I would advise to avoid.
3) Remember this golden rule if he or she is a newbie, or has no trusts and wants to make a deal you're about to be scammed, insist on a escrow, if he's trustable check recent ratings.
4) Bitcoins is for the long term, no matter what happens in short term simply hodl.
5) Last but another golden rule use your head and the search button in forum to do your research and find about the information given to you.

Everyone wants those two as those two are the most popular crypto and alt in the market, known to give good returns, but I would only advise adding bitcoins to your portfolio.

You know cryptocurrency market is highly volatile and lucrative market. Anything can happened anytime in cryptocurrency market. I think as a crypto trader everyone should know this following basic things before invest:
1. The first thing you need to do before you invest in a crypto is to analyze its trading volumes. As a rule, always go for cryptos that have high daily trading volumes. High volumes signal to a Crypto’s liquidity, and the presence of an active community. The problem with low volume cryptos is that in most cases, they lack a strong community backing them, and they can easily get delisted from exchanges.
2. Once you have narrowed down on cryptos with high daily trading volumes, focus on their historical price movements. You can get detailed idea about the project.
3. Get precise idea about the project by checking their latest update and social media history.
4. Better choose the project which have a large active community members.
5. Always choose the project which are listed on big exchange site or have better opportunity to get listed.
6. Now that you have identified the coins to invest in, you need to find an entry point for your investment.

and yes i think people want bitcoin/ethereum so badly because it is top ranked cryptocurrency in the market which has a great future and recognized by most of exchange sites which facilitates crypto trading, besides primary and widely used cryptocurrency in the crypto market which has a great value.

It really depends, but the basics are always a great place to start (this very section is perfect for that) but as you grow with your crypto knowledge, listening to others and understanding their opinions (even if you don't agree with them) is a big one. Additionally, learning about crypto, instead of just how it can make you money, is a big one!

The most important to learn when trying to involved yourself in the cryptocurrency world is that, "NO ONE GET RICH WITH CRYPTO REAL QUICK" unless he scam others.

What information? Err, the basics at least? On how bitcoin works and how to protect your funds and stuff. I always suggest this link when people ask where to start: https://www.coindesk.com/information/ | I think it has enough content for a beginner.
It doesn't matter if it is basic or not as long as it is vital in learning crypto whether basic or not. AFAIK there are some topic created but it doesn't really help at all and you'll need to search all over again.

BTC and ETH have fiat equivalent or rather a certain value.
Why do people want money badly? Your guess is as good as mine.
This digital assets also have applications and use cases which makes it doubly important.
I think you'e right, I think i should have typed "why do people want money so bad" as suggested by Lakai01.

I'm not sure how deep you are into crypto and If you already know about this or not but hopefully these pieces of advice could help you and save you some money.
Not too deep and yes I know about it. I guess you may call it post bursting but actually I don't post too much In one day. Thank you for sharing that vital information it really can help as I know about it too. The reason I post this is to gather different information in one thread whether basic or not as long as it is necessary to learn and may be used in most situation especially these information that focused on safety

2. An exchange is meant for buying/selling crypto and not for storing your funds, it doesn't matter If you have 2FA enabled or not, your funds are not secure there because you don't have control over them. (Think of the following scenarios: Hacks, inside jobs, exit scam...) So just trade and withdraw to your personal wallet.
4. If you're into ICOs, avoid projects with hype around them, only invest in something that you believe in.
6. If you're dealing with other individuals, avoid accepting reversible PayPal payments unless that user is trustworthy. If dealing with someone in the forums, watch the profile and see If there was a recent password change (account hacked), and also the trust history.

Why do people want bitcoin/ethereum so badly?
Replace "bitcoin/ethereum" with "money" and you get the answer to your question. Most of the people in the crypto universe are here to make money, only a few really believe in the technology itself and are here because they think that the tech behind those currencies may be a game changer like the internet itself was.

Also Etherium is already a platform with MANY projects running on it. Therefore it has a secured spot in the crypto-ecosystem, which makes the token a valuable asset of course

1. A wallet should: give you control over your private keys and need to be open source.
3.In general, a reputable exchange will be listed in CoinMarketCap and has a few millions in trading volume, don't try to use something else. If you find an exchange that has a lot of advantages and you have some doubts about, feel free to ask in the forums.
4. If you're into ICOs, avoid projects with hype around them, only invest in something that you believe in.
5. Avoid cloud mining companies and sites that promise to give daily interest, It's a Ponzi scheme.
6. If you're dealing with other individuals, avoid accepting reversible PayPal payments unless that user is trustworthy. If dealing with someone in the forums, watch the profile and see If there was a recent password change (account hacked), and also the trust history.
7. A little bit off topic but you should avoid post bursting.

I'm not sure how deep you are into crypto and If you already know about this or not but hopefully these pieces of advice could help you and save you some money.

I would recommend you to NOT trust anyone from this forum . Where the money are surely there will be also scammers . Also if you are a daily trader I would recommend you to do your own research and do not trust any social media

Because bitcoin and ethereum are the #1 and #2 cryptocurrencies by market cap; and simply because they're some of the few cryptocurrencies that are actually usable right now.
