Have a potentials to be a great projects, and have a lot of people who participate on that project, more participants more followers and of course have a big budget, more budget more participants.
Reasonable price, reasonable technology, not too crazy bounty distribution and reasonable team and bounty manager 
Actually a good ICO is based on their whitepaper and the team itself, Usually i join campaign that is very active on social media. If they raised big on their private sale then that's the time i will join, and btw. you need to watch their youtube video for you to understand the whole concept of the project.
What are the features are important to look for in good ICO
Jurisdiction.
For example there is lccx.io - looks like promising exchange based in London. Well developed white paper, experienced team, located in politically stable jurisdiction.
The starting point of my approach is to determine whether I actually like the idea behind the project. If the answer is yes, then I start studying detailed information on the project. If I still like the project, then it is a good moment to double check main points of the story: team, MVP, partners, competitors, etc. In the end, the less controversial or faulty facts I find, the more chances for my participation will be.

Personally, for me, the main indicator is the team, because if the team is known and popular then in most cases the project will be successful.
Some key factors for my decision making are:

It is not meant to be exhaustive. Last but not least, I have to be able to explain to my grandma in a few minutes what does the token/coin do (= I prefer simple solutions).

There are many criteria, but the team, the technology and the idea and the level of popularity are the main ones 
- 1st what is their goal and what they are solving.
- Who are their team and how professional they are
- What is advantages of project among it's competitors and why you think it will shine

We all know for sure that every ICO, whether legit or scam, will surely have a website. So i look out for other things other than this and these are:
1. Innovativeness - the first question i ask my self when it comes to this aspect is that, what problem are they trying to solve and how feasible is it.
2 Working team. When it comes to choosing a good ICO. I look out for real and good working team with integrity and not just a paper team for scam ICO.
3. Other things are look out for are the whitepaper and the roadmao.

I always look for a good team who is working on the project then see that their project has reputed investors or not. The project should also have some perspective. It should solve an issue or bring some advancement to the current system as these factors will ultimately affect the growth of the community and increase the value of the project making the coin more valuable and increasing its price and helping it not only survive in the market but also rise above the existing coins.
